Personally I liked the movie even better at first, but looking back I think the book was better.... then again, I hadn't seen a movie in months, and was probably exaggerating the good of the movie since I had nothing to compare it to... :)

MC: I have all four, and they have an honorary place on my bookshelf [which is really getting out of hand because there are books pilled everywhere!]

I've read The Giver, Gathering Blue and The Messenger, but while I have Son, I haven't gotten around to reading it yet.
Have did you like them? I thought the two sequels were okay, but with the magical sounding forest in the sequels, I couldn't help but feel that it was inconsistent with the sci fi setting of the first book.
