Personally I liked the movie even better at first, but looking back I think the book was better.... then again, I hadn't seen a movie in months, and was probably exaggerating the good of the movie since I had nothing to compare it to...

Have you guys ever read the other three books in the Giver quartet?

I've read Gathering Blue and Messenger, but not son... how many have you read, kura?

I've read The Giver, Gathering Blue and The Messenger, but while I have Son, I haven't gotten around to reading it yet.
Have did you like them? I thought the two sequels were okay, but with the magical sounding forest in the sequels, I couldn't help but feel that it was inconsistent with the sci fi setting of the first book.

I love all four.
