The irony is people who don't know what to wear or don't care, also portray this to me.

If you are someone who is only going for a 5 minute walk to a restaurant to order something to-go and just threw something on, you'll look like this to me.

I don't make my assumptions too deep. I don't assume I can read people's entire personalities or anything based simply on clothing, but still just a general idea of what I might be in for.

People who are so laidback they don't care about fashion and just whatever makes them feel comfy, usually look this way to me in how they dress.

Yes, as said it's shallow and judgemental, and judging a book by its cover - as I said there's always exceptions.

I try not to be biased.

For example if I saw these two people: http://9gag.com/gag/1777564/don-t-preju ... appearance

I would not instantly assume the little girl is a nice little girl, but have a neutral opinion of her. Not threatening, potentially not kind either. And the man? I wouldn't assume he's a threat, I'd just assume firstly that he may be homeless or poor.

I think if people are causal around you are comfortable enough not to care what you think.

Huh? What do you mean?

Yeah, I do think people who don't care what others think do come across this way to me. I agree with that.

That's all I'm trying to say. If we aren't poor or anything and have access to the necessary recources to look as good or as laidback as we want to, it is our choices that make us come across how our personality is.

Someone who doesn't care what others think, I assume they'll wear whatever they want, no matter how old or unfashionable and such the clothing is.

Some may have average hygiene, but others may have less-than-average hyigiene because as said, they just don't care.

Meanwhile the way I look in my pictures is a sign I do care.

What I'm wondering though is what personality I might portray.

I don't think I'm the only one who makes guesses at people's personalities based on looks.

Some people look very obviously one thing or another. There are some nerdy or geeky type people, for instance, that may easily LOOK like a nerd/geek.

It's all based on shallow stereotypes, but ones that tend to be correct.

If I saw these men https://www.pinterest.com/pin/372532200399630594/

I'd assume they enjoy working out due to their size, they significantly care about fashion as this is what's most popular in Australia right now among young coastal men, I'd assume they make electronic music because of the background gear (speakers, keyboard, several computers), I'd assume they may be confident and may enjoy partying.

The facts? They are three electronic DJs, Australian and live on the coastal areas, are confident men and real party animals, and enjoy working out.

It's not because I already know the facts - I would have guessed all of these things even if I had never met them before. And, once I do a google search, realize I was spot-on.

If that exactly how you dress outside then my rate is: 1/10

- Clothes need ironing as hell.
- They need to be tailored as hell.
- Hats are stupid.

Lol, that's the lowest rating I've ever got.

Hats fit me as I enjoy wearing them, but it also covers up my hair.

Truth is I like shaving my hair short and letting it grow until it looks like beatles style hair, and then shave it right down to near-bald again.

Whenever my hair is at its shortest, I look like a skinhead. That's not the hairstyle that would go well with any of my clothes.

Even now, where my hair is of its average length, it doesn't particularly fit with my clothes, does it?

Most of my clothes are for people who enjoy extremely styled hair that's been combed and has a variety of gels and other modifications.

As I'm not interested in doing this, I've got to cover up somehow.

Yes, the clothes need ironing.

But, do some of them really need re-fitting?

All the pants fit me quite well.

The short-sleeved dress shirts fit me alright, and I've heard suggestions it's better they go down to your Biceps and not your elbows, which is the case with me.

The long-sleeved I wear unbuttoned is actually a slim-fit and fits me perfectly fine when buttoned, it's just I prefer a more casual look with it.

Iron them first, then we can be more sure whether they need re-fitting or not.

Maybe it's their non-ironed state that make them appear needing re-fitting.

So you agree about the hat then?

I believe the majority of these:

Fit better with my clothes than this:

The hat has its purpose.

I once had a girlfriend who wore torn-up jeans and tee shirts (torn-up too), and had messy hair.

I still wanted to constantly get into her pants. She was so beautiful!

Funny enough I'm EXTREMELY attracted to girls with a more unkempt, messy, laidback but comfortable look instead of the one's who like to look all clean and fashionable and stuff. It drives me WILD, always will. Or when she's in her PJs, the just got out of bed look.

I'm attracted to it, but could never want to be that way myself. I don't like the idea of not caring about my appearance or even being more laidback about it. I feel very dirty and disgusted with myself when I do.

I once walked to mcdonalds a complete mess. Scruffy hair, shirt stained with food from earlier in the day, I didn't bother putting on deodorant, my shorts were stained with...*ahem*, so I quickly put some un-matching pants on and didn't even put them on properly. I was very tired, didn't pay attenton to how I walked, etc.

I don't like being a mess like that.

Funny enough that was the day I got looks from a girl about my age with her family...

Opposites attract sometimes, really. Would be nice to have a girl that likes snazzy preppy looking guys, but is a bit of a grub (in a good way) herself.

I think you'll be okay, once you get to Brisbane and university. You'll see people wearing all sorts of styles. It'll be a much more cosmopolitan atmosphere. It won't be like high school, where you had the nerds and the jocks.

I bet you would like the Ron Jon type of style. Surfing, yet somewhat classy. Not bro-ish at all.

You are guys not girls.

Yes, most of us guys don't care about clothes - if a girl is attractive, she's attractive.

But don't assume the majority of the opposite sex think like us, they don't.

ps: I hate hats

I'm actually biased the other way. I see people who have clearly put a lot of effort into their appearance as vain and superficial. I think better of people who don't care about how they appear as I think they have their priorities in the right place.
Not that I think you are vain and superficial, OP. It's just a bias, like you have the other way.

Regarding your pictures, you look fine to me. Except for the sunglasses.

I'm 20 and I think OP is trying way too hard to dress to impress. People that put lots of effort into their appearance and expect the same of others really do strike me as vain and superficial.
