tsg - you've got an important point there.
I've got to remember that, and try to
keep things light with those that I'm
interested in.

A rather staunch realist unfortunately, but one that keeps going because of his sheer curiosity to find out what happens next.

I'm not real, I'm ideal.

I'm most definately a realist.
The world is never going to be some ferrytale paradise.
If i were an idealist i'd proberbly become a vegetarian or something.

I think the politician's phrase for it is "cautiously optimistic" :)

I don't know. You could say I'm both.
I consider myself a dreamer.

I have a little of both, so I'm a mix of idealist and realist. I have dreams, goals, and wishes that I wanna pursue, and I feel like that I'll reach/achieve them with hard work and determination. On the other side of the coin, I know a lot of these dreams, goals, and whatnot are in the minority of today's society and I'm prepared to face the reality of them not happening when/if I come to that realization. I know the world can be a mean b***h, but I also know that pretty much anything's possible as long as your persistent, work hard, are determined, and are willing to never settle for less than what you want and desire.

Well, my chosen email address has had "idealist" in it for more than eight years now. :D
But one time, fairly recently, I got super depressed (beyond my normal depressions), and almost changed it to "realist". Seriously.
I am very realistic by necessity, but I'm a dreamer at heart. 8)

(Isn't that the fun of being an Aspie? You can dream, and you don't care what anyone else may say against it?)

It is. You wouldn't believe how many people have tried to bring me down regarding my dreams and goals and how stubborn I am not to give into their ways. (:
