She said she'd pay me for parts used.

Forgot to add that some iphones are easy to fix because the screen comes out first. If it's one of the newer ones, try to reuse old finger print sensor. Those have unique id and it won't work with a different one. Luckily, with new updates at least phone won't be bricked if old finger print sensor is damaged.

Some scammers aren't always so obvious, not always using fake names, or faking their gender and they don't necessarily hide behind fake pics.

Some people shamelessly do it to squeeze money from lonely men by attempting to make them emotionally attached.

The last scammer I encountered was a totally real person, she has a real fb with pics of her in recent events (check whether all her friends are males or not, if all are males and models = fake fb), her pictures were genuine, and she even sent me pics of her related to recent events.

We even talked on the phone for hours, hell even saw her on cam, so there was zero doubt about her gender and her persona....and it was planned to meet her in the following weekend.

It was all fine, and suddenly, after few days of communication, she was claiming to be depressed because she has a lot of 'problems' but she pretended that she doesn't want to talk about it at that moment, I felt something fishy right there.

On the following day, she suddenly turned into a 'damsel in distress' - and I didn't even asked her why she was bothered yesterday but she led the conversation to it, it went something like that:
- Oh btw, wanna know why i was bothered yesterday?
- Why?
- Because I have problems, I have borrowed money from an organization and I can't pay it back now; I keep thinking how I am gonna pay it back.

From this moment I knew she was playing the typical "Oh, I am the damsel in distress, save me noble man and dating you will be guaranteed" kind of scam, and she probably doing it with other 20 guys.

So I simply cut my communication just after that line.

So I was just about to ask for clarification when she asked if I can fix her cracked iPhone screen.

It's weird that she said it openly like that. She should've simply mentioned that her iphone broke and how it's so expensive to fix it and how little money she has and how her phone is important to her. If she's a scammer, she's not a good one.

Some scammers play the 'damsel in distress' knowing that some guys would fall for it.

Link, this is not Zelda.
Your princess is in another castle.
etc.

I think her asking if the restaurant was expensive was her way of saying she didn't view you romantically. It's a way of saying that she will pay for herself and doesn't consider you a romantic contender.

What? Lots of people prefer to go Dutch but going Dutch doesn't mean that they're not interested in you as a romantic partner.

Yeah, but you can discuss that when the cheque comes. To bring it up while deciding on the restaurant is a tactic to distance oneself.

I would just pay by default...unless the woman REALLY insisted.

You should report it for being a sexist post, it strengthen gender roles stereotypes, it implies the stereotype that women love money in men, expect men to always pay..etc....

Generalization, sexism....

Am I not right? Am I not right?

***Trigger Alert*** ***Boo ignore***

It would be the same if the guy started talking about money. It's a bad sign if this is the main concern.

Oh C'mon....stop with this Ignoring LOL

I don't think the paying/not paying/going Dutch thing is going to be solved any time soon.

I would just take it by ear. But I would, by default, pay. This solves many problems.

It doesn't go totally against my values. I don't mind paying.
