Addendum: I choose Vlad through experience…I had a psycho tell me this very statement, after I told her that ‘…no, I’ve never had a girlfriend…I don’t think I want one either…’ when she asked me if I was single...and then why.

Graelwyn,

Nice post.

I define it as an obsession which has reached
the point at which one can consciously commit
to being forever obligated to it.

What the diddly does that mean?
And is it a load of bollocks?

it means that if you'd never been in love... then it wouldn't matter cause you would be void of knowing the pain and the pleasure.

it's like not having one of your sensories... how can you have color described to you if you've been blind from birth?

edit: the author is suggesting that the pleasure is defintly worth the possible pain

I would suggest that even the pain is worth it
on it's own. At least one has memories.

I've always hated that phrase. Everytime someone tells me that, I have this urge to wanna buy a tazer just to use it on them or anyone else the next time they say that.

In short, I agree. It's a giant load of crap. :\

Love makes you too emotionally vulnerable and clouded...such a weakeness that should never be exposed to anyone.

I don't know...when people fixate on your weaknesses they tend to forget your strengths. When people can only see how "soft" you are they'll never see that you're also "hard"; the same way that everyone can be hard when needed...they just won't expect it if they cannot get past your "softness".

i would agree with the phrase in terms being in love once, as i have been in love once and i must reluctantly say it was ultimately worth it, though (as usually happens) it went sour in the end. However, loving and losing more than once i think is clearly not worthwhile - now i think about love, to quote a book, 'it is a luxury not for me.'

I don't know if it is true or not. I've only loved a couple of people. One, she completely f****d me over. The other....she completely f****d me over. One at one point at the least claimed to have loved me back. The other...I'm not sure. So...yeah, I don't see how it is better to have loved and lost.

The ability to feel motions are a good sign that you're still alive.
