great idea Comet, but what is WP then, i mean you can do the same thing on WP.
But if you started a dating site for aspies i would be on of the many who would join. :D

I think it is a great idea. Especially if it is free. I would be interested particularly in the friend’s part. Maybe the dating part too, though that scares the s**t out of me.

Personally I think what is particularly missing is a meets (meet-up) site for ASD. Online social networking and forums is very different thing from meet ups. I've seen meet up sections work really well on other support forums. I asked to have one here but it doesn't seem likely as it is probably a conflict of interest with Aspie Affection. It would be good to have a well done meets site. These are different from the commercially organised event sites, etc. It is meets by the members for the members.

Good question it is not limited.

There can be large meets. These could be formal and meet up fairly regularly in the same place. I found these hard to get to know people. But useful in getting used to being around people.

Or you can have small improvised meets. An example my first meet was just somebody had some tickets to see a gig. Other ones where radio recordings (free), events in like a Moroccan market.

It is completely up to what they want to do. You can give tips on what works, I've learnt a lot from it. I wouldn't have made friends for the first time at 24 without them.

Get a dating site going, that seems like the best choice :)

Also encourage people to help people out. So like if somebody says they need someone to go with them to a social thing they find difficult, people who are cool with that can go with them.

COMET,
Your website is a very bold idea, but with AA and WP, what exactly is the point of your website? No offense, but I don't think the creators of AA would want competition.

It's not even a matter of competition. The thing is that AA is pretty much
filled with people not finding anyone. It's too small a segment to target to
well. Ah, I'm not saying that there are no success stories - and I rather
applaud alex for having made the site - but it's pretty much a place for
aspies who only want other aspies to post, which is pretty limited.

I've seen a goodly number of friendships created on WP, and don't really
see the value of a site for just that. What AA adds is a place to announce
that one is somewhat serious about looking.

Well, good luck. I just can't imagine
that you'll have too much more than
WP with it's 1000+ members manages.
