My list:
- Must be of above-average intelligence
- Must be of above-average height
- Must like science fiction
- Must like cats
- Must be over 30 (over 35 even better)
- Must be female (thought I'd toss that one in anyway)

aye

i get that too

i hear lots of noises better than most, so the annoying ones are the loud ones. high pitched stuff is just torture. gum, im getting used to (i dont chew it.. cant stand it really) because of my 'social' activities, the people in them chew gum to keep breath fresh. So its learning to be tolerant for me on that regard.

in terms of your list, sure its a good list. i used to have one myself, but ultimately i shortened it to

"someone who can tolerate my moods"

which is someone that can tolerate my AS 'symptoms'. Jellybean666 is trying (shes muh lady) and is doing really well in trying to understand.

as for yourself, when you put a limit to things, you're limiting yourself. its something to be aware of, but nothing you should have to live by :)

good luck!

People around here are really lame - they don't like talking politics or debating/discussing important issues (therapeutic cloning was recently given the okay here and nobody want to talk about it!). It sucks.

haha that's so cool. Embrace the inner child!

My list:

1. She must be an Aspie

2. She must live within 50 miles of Wichita Falls, Texas, or be willing to do a long-distance relationship

3. Her "must see TV" must include the Simpsons, South Park, Family Guy, American Dad, and the shows on Adult Swim

4. She must be skinny and have at least a 34C chest

5. She cannot be asexual--and, in fact, must adhere to the "third date rule"

Tim

I was in an online correspondence with a woman who actually met those criteria just over a year ago. She wanted to be my girlfriend, and even promised to marry me as soon as I finished college. But about three weeks after the correspondence began, I would never hear from her again...

...until a few days ago. I found out that she had found someone else--after leaving me hanging for over a year. The whole reason I had limited myself to other Aspies is so I would not encounter such deception. I even overlooked the fact that she was 10 years younger than me (I'm 27, she's 18), despite my preference for women closer to my age.

18 is unstable, she herself didn't entirely know what she wanted. i am the same age as you are and would prefer younger one, though :)

I honestly think it would be easier to find a way to clone yourself and marry it legally than finding a 100% match for your list. Your life preferences change over time aswell, would you dump your perfect match from today because in 5yrs time they ordered something off the menu in a restuarant that you don't like? The criteria is mostly trivial.

Promising marriage may allude to this fact.

Probably too much. But, it's good to
set sights fairly high, and lower them
to match reality. At least most of the
elements of your list look plausible
(unlike mine). Remember though,
people grow together - so a good
fit will learn to share your pleasures,
and you theirs.

Fairly tall but not really really tall. I'm taller than my mum but I don't actually know exactly how much. Most girls seem to be shorter than me anyway so I'm probably alright there.

hey Soph, why do you want the person not to be taller than you? you are female (at least your profile says so), so what's the problem?

I dunno really, I guess I just think it'd be weird.
