My theory is the OP is probably a very attractive-looking female and those guys are drooling for her.

Oh thanks a bunch Boo :p I'm going to take that with a grain of salt since we're pals.

I am not poking you or anything, but I believe that some people exhibit a strong sex appeal (it usually radiates from appearance) that make the the opposite behave like idiots.

I am very average myself, and I rarely get such behaviors, especially outside of online means- but I do witness women behaving like complete idiots around the super hot guys and trying desperately catching their attention.

If she's doing that from a smartphone, I gotta hand it to her...she's got some strong thumbs. Think what she could do with those thumbs with US military special forces training and active combat duty in Afghanistan.

That all depends on the person though. Plenty of guys will just take that as a genuine lack of interest and not bother. If everyone thought exactly the same way it'd be a pretty boring world.

That's no excuse for being a manipulative jerk. If you're gonna play these push/pull games with a woman, expect to wait. Otherwise, don't play.

My wife was more the type to wear men down and then steal the initiative. She was a lot of fun to date. She doesn't make it easy just because we're married, either. She wants to know exactly what she's worth to someone.

Then why it's ok when they play the pull/push game with us?

Manipulative jerk? All I said was that if I think people are busy then I don't want to bother them, don't want to be an inconvenience to them. That's being a manipulative jerk, trying not to be a burden?

Don't get argumentative with me. You said: "Plenty of guys will just take that as a genuine lack of interest and not bother."

If that's all it takes for a guy to lose interest, a girl has better things to do with her time. And yes, a guy who tries to emotionally blackmail a girl by threatening to give up on her because she doesn't immediately respond to text IS being a manipulative jerk.

Well I'm not talking about blackmailing people, I'm just saying that if I believe somebody is busy I won't want to disturb them, and that if they act like they're not interested in me then I'm naturally going to assume they're not and not peruse the matter further. Do you have some kind of grudge against me, is that the problem here? Would you rather we just avoid talking to each other in the future? Because I'd rather not engage in hostilities; I'm done trying to cause trouble.

I understand what Sabreclaw is saying. If you text a few times and she doesn't bother texting back then that means she' probably not interested. Same for guys. If I text a guy and he never texts me I stop bothering because he's obviously not interested.

That's not emotional blackmail, that's just facing facts.

Although, I don't think this is the same case as what the OP is talking about. She's getting bombarded with texts it seems. A reasonable person will understand that she can't chat at work and at certain other times and will be patient and wait until it's convenient.

But if someone leaves it days before replying or they never reply, they are absolutely not into you
