^^ Sly, that is a good workout! Good for you.

^^ Definitely yes to shared workouts! Nice to have some one to do a workout with. All shared interests like that are really great for spending time together. I love walking and socialising. I used to be a diver and found it a really easy way to socialise, shared interest, shared things to talk about and also extra bonus that the time under water is lovely and silent!

My husband and I have started to get up at 5 am which gives us 1-1.5 hr together without the children. It has become so challenging to have any evening time together as I have to lie down with our autistic daughter or she can't fall asleep and I am so exhausted all the time that I end up falling asleep and then if he tries to wake me I am really groggy and can't get back to sleep after we have some form of super late evening together (11:30-12:30 ish). So instead we decided to try and just let me fall asleep and instead get up early and hang out. It is still not working out great as I tend to wake up at 2 am and just stay awake until 4 am. But the very thought that he (who is an evening person) would try and shift his day to spend some alone time with me is very nice. Hopefully my sleep cycle will get a bit better soon and it can be a really nice start to the day.

I don’t know if this is “positive” enough, but it’s basically all you can expect from me.

Since I was last moved, I sit at “work” (it feels deeply wrong to use that word, but whatever) almost in front of a haughty hottie I know essentially nothing about, nor do I really wish to, with a glass in the middle. My only interaction with her so far was more than a year ago, when we all walked to the top of a nearby hill. She apparently noticed something off about me when I walked past her, because she felt the need to make a loud derogatory remark, explicitly about me and definitely intended to be heard by me, but, as usual, addressed to someone else.

The good news? Well, I’ve paid basically zero attention to her so far, so I’m ahead in the who-pays-less-attention-to-whom game :jester:

Maybe one day I'll hear something from you in a tone that I don't expect ;)

I haven't done it yet, but by announcing that I'm going to, it will make me accountable, so it'll happen :)

My life has been in chaos lately and so the easiest thing to do food-wise is grab quick comfort food instead of cooking nutritious stuff. The chaos is still there, but I can't just keep up these bad habits - the impact on my skin and bodyfat is obvious, and it moves me away from my goal of presenting the best version of me to the dating world (eventually).

So today is cook-up-a-storm day. Foods get stored by their main type (protein, fat, carb, or unlimited extras), then I grab what I need from those to make each meal. Today's collection (to last a few days):

Protein - eggs, kangaroo steak, skinless chicken, choc flavoured protein powder.
Fat - cashews, pistachios, dark chocolate, peanut butter.
Carbs - potato, fruit.
Unlimited extras - mushroom, capsicum, onion, bean sprouts, alfalfa, spinach.

Yum.

It's pretty common here in the land of kangaroos :) I can't really tell the difference between roo or beef so I choose roo as it's a more ethical choice. Now if only I could stop eating chicken, the least ethical choice of all!

I forgot to respond to your exercising question. I really think it's an individual choice (or more accurately, a couple choice :P). I think I'd enjoy having my partner spot me when I'm weight training, but I prefer to jog solo. I need to go at my own pace, in my own private zone. It's the only time I have earphones in. Also, my face goes super red as I'm really pale, and I wouldn't want to subject my poor partner to that sight  Walking together is nice, but so is walking solo, so I'd like to mix it up. A hit of squash together? Bring it on!

I found a concert flyer for m'lady's favorite artist. I hope she gets my message.

I've recently gotten into two part-time jobs and some volunteer work. That's cool.

^^That is really brilliant! ^^

I haven't done any exercise for a few days as summer kind of arrived and my hay fever went crazy and I am sneezing every two minutes. But I seem to have adjusted again so look forward to doing a work out today.

Also,I got a little job that I can fit in between getting kids to / from school from September. I insisted I didn't want payment but it will involve learning a new area of Philosophy to teach a teenage student working towards an exam so that will be pretty fun and exciting for me. Most importantly it will be good experience as I look to going back to work over the next year.

Good idea for a thread OP.

I have put in my earrings. I know it's a small thing but it's one lots of little things I regularly give up bothering with and now that I don't need my coat to go to work I only look twice the size I actually am in my work fleece rather than three times it as I did over winter in my fleece and coat together. I may even put on some mascara.

And tomorrow I will book my appointment for new shoe inserts so that I can start running again.

I can't do anything about weights until after my doctors appointment on Monday, hopefully I will be referred for a steroid injection for my wrist.

I'm still considering mindful eating.
