My experience of meeting American women is that compared too women from other countries they can be especially difficult and rude.

IMO, I think it's a common misconception that people who believe this should consider speaking to people who fear that they will never someone to be with just because they are not attractive enough.

"people" tell you that you need to workout?

Who tells you that, the prospective dates that turned you down?

Otherwise, it doesn't mean that you need a different body type.

Plenty of men much shorter and lighter weight than you, are married

Not dates but mostly male friends have told I should workout in the past

Jamesy

All things equal, it is better for you to workout, than not workout

Not all things are equal

Some men and women refuse to date someone that looks a certain way

But they are superficial and you might not want to date them anyways

If someone told refused to date you on the basis of your height or weight, it's hard to imagine that they would tell you

I've told my son he should work out. His clothes just hang on him. To me it looks like he doesn't care about his health or appearance. Now I know for a fact he does care about his health, and I also know for a fact he doesn't give a fig about his appearance. Since he has a girlfriend who doesn't care about appearance, either, and is in a field that doesn't care, he'll get away with it. But he could cast a much more striking and powerful image if he paid a little attention. Since I'm his mom my opinion on his looks is pretty meaningless, but a lot of different people have told me I have a handsome son (I think I do, too, of course). Still, it really is obvious that he doesn't care AT ALL about appearance.

Thinking back to my own dating days, I believe that while it is not a deal breaker to not care about appearance, it can really grab attention if a guy pays attention to his looks, does the work, and has a great body. If you have the chance to throw one more asset into your basket of attractions, why not?

Many Americans see it as being "real." Manners are a social construct.

Working out has many more benefits than just bulking up/slimming down; you gain confidence and posture and you feel good, which sounds weird but that does shine through. As for gaining weight or not, that is alot more down to your diet than it is to your workout regimen. Unless there are some special circumstances (injuries or such) I'd stay away from the machines and use free weights instead.

Real weights provide more benefits to you.

More muscles are actually used in lifting free weights.

They help you too much. Lock you into the movement instead of letting your body learn to maintain balance and keep form to perform the movement correctly.

Oh absolutely. Here's a program I do when I'm not recovering from a concussion ( ).

The evil Russian’s “hit the deck” program

WEEK 1

Mon: 100% test, relative intensity (RI) 30% Set frequency (SF) 60 min
Tues: RI 50% SF 60 min
Wed: RI 60% SF 45 min
Thurs: RI 25% SF 60 min
Fri: RI 45% SF 30 min
Sat: RI 40% SF 60 min
Sun: RI 20% SF 90 min

WEEK 2

Mon: 100% test RI 35% SF 45min
Tues: RI 55% SF 20 min
Wed: RI 30% SF 15 min
Thurs: RI 65% SF 60min
Fri: RI 35% SF 45 min
Sat: RI 45% SF 60 min
Sun: RI 25% SF120 min

WEEK 3

Mon: 100% test

RI is how large a portion of your max-test result you do at every tick of the set frequency. So if you can do 50 pushups in one set before failure, then the first day of the test you do 15 (50x0.30=15) pushups every 60 minutes. I usually start at 9 in the morning and stop at 9 in the evening. for easy counting. If you stick to it, you'll see results fast.

Ignore them do what you want to do and makes you happy.
Lifting weights is not for everyone there are other things to do like swimming, cycling, walking, etc.
So many people get injured lifting weights or cross fit at the gym.
Lifting too heavy, or too many reps with poor form will lead to inevitable injuries.
Lifting weights is boring and no results after 6 months you are likely to quit and do something more interesting.
