Nope. It's not a compliment. If a friend calls you a "weirdo", it's nice. That bird calling you a weirdo - not nice.

Depends on the specific context.

Most of the time, being called a "weirdo" is not complimentary.

Now....if you were called an "oddball," then it would more likely be complimentary.

Why is it not complimentary?

Weirdo is very informal. It can be used both negatively as an insult and positively as a compliment, depending on how you feel about someone else's weird behavior. Much less commonly, weirdo can be used as an informal term for a person considered a dangerous psychopath.

I guess it depends on the attitude of the person saying it.
Was the woman smiling, or did she look revolted?

Surprised no female-identified people have commented yet.

I have definitely affectionately called a guy a weirdo. I think what you did/said is less relevant than how she said it. Was she smiling and/or laughing? If so, then she may have meant it as “I think you are different/interesting in an appealing way but I’m not sure where the boundaries are here so rather than say something obviously affectionate, I will call you a weirdo.” That’s how I would mean it.

If you don’t remember what her face looked like when she called you a weirdo, then it could really mean anything. It depends on whether you think she would consider weirdness to be a positive. If she was completely sober and you were drunk, it was probably not good.

do you think sometimes being called a weirdo by a girl could be considered a compliment?

it could imply that she thinks i am interesting or quirky in some way perhaps?
It means you are weird.

No, it is not a compliment but honestly, does it really matter?

NT, here...In fact, it comes down to the context, specifically the dynamic one has with the person that calls us "weird" or "weirdo"...If he or she is generally playful and at times flirtatious, you may take it as a compliment...In this case, you did something out of the ordinary that led him or her to call you "weirdo"...

In my younger years i had friends that would tease others and playfully call them names, like "You silly!! !"...And this kind of behaviour is acceptable among friends who know each other well...It is their way of bonding, or connecting...

On the other hand, if the word "weirdo" is coming from a complete stranger, then it is most definitely not a compliment...I remember one single time, encountering someone who was drunk...And he pulled a string of my long wavy hair...I was outraged!! !...That was so unwelcomed!! !...I just walked away, but i should have called him "weirdo"... :D
