I've been called gay & thought to be gay before because I do not conform to the stereotypical male. It contributed to the gender & sexuality confusion I've had about myself in the past. Some people use labels like Gay to be insulting & mean but I've been thought gay by people who were nice. It was really awkward when I tried asking a girl out & she got all confused because she thought I was gay & in the closet :wall: & that happened more than 1ce :pale: I liked em because they were nice to me. I thought I would of been in the friend zone, not in the homosexual category. Some people are influenced by stereotypes & when someone does not conform to them, it throws them for a loop & there is confusion. Also homosexuals used to be(& still are sometimes) a very hated minority because of religious propaganda so the word Gay became an insult within certain circles. Some people are mean & like to put others down to build themselves up. Being on the spectrum can make us very easy targets sometimes since our social issues make us unpopular.

I'm very weird and I assume a lot of the people I know think I'm gay.

I can live with that... in Denmark, it's more acceptable to be gay than asexual...

Where I'm from most people have never even heard the term "asexual". I'm sorta on the asexuality spectrum but I do not fit that sterotype. I do NOT conform to any sterotype really.

Most people around here are only familiar with "asexual" as a term from biology class referring to a type of reproduction in organisms.

Same with me too. I noticed that it's usually the ugly ducklings who mock others for their sexuality themselves. (I'm not gay but there's nothing wrong with it)

"Are you gay?" They ask and I often want to reply "No, it's just that everyone around me looks and acts like you so I'm rarely chasing the ladies"

Last one who asked me if i was gay as a patronising insult must have weighed 300+ pounds.

What's wrong with being ugly?

NT, here...I don't think i have ever met an 'ugly' person...I am not saying there are none...There must be...But i tried to think of one...And i cannot think of having seen any...I know that i am a rare NT...There is an NT saying "Beauty is on the eye of the beholder"...That must be true...Because i tend to see people for their qualities...And when i choose my friends, attractiveness is not a requirement...So maybe if we focus on the qualities of the person, he or she will not appear ugly before our eyes...Do i make sense???

Also, i have a theory...if what you are implying above is true, that ugly people tend to bully...Then, maybe they learned to bully others because someone bullied them for being ugly...Lesson for us here: Brake the cycle...Don't perpetuate the suffering...Stop the bullying... :!: :!: :!:

I personally noticed that it usually tends to be the convetionally phsically attractive people who do the bullying. The non-convetionally phsically attractive tend to be the victims of bullying & they seem to be more accepting of others. Bullying is about putting down others lower than them in an attempt to build themselves up. You can not put down someone lower than you are when you are on the ground floor very bottom level because you are thought to be "ugly". The very sad thing I noticed is that the bullied tend to be gaslighted & get accused of being the bullies &,or blamed for the bullying they recieve.

Bullying will never end because it’s part of the human evolutionary natural process.

Educational institutions tried for years and so hard to solve this problem, organizations invested in countless of anti-bullying campaigns yet NOTHING works, not even close; bullies appear in one’s life even at preschool age. How are you gonna tell toddlers not to be bullies?

It is one of the ugly inborn things humans have; and only some genetic re-engineering may solve it.

I agree that we can not fully stop bullying right now but there are lots of things that can be done to reduce & minimize it. Society taking no action & intentionally turning their backs to it or even worse allowing people to actively encourage bullying, teaches bullies that their are no negative consequences for them & things can turn violent or even deadly for their victims.
