I was wearing contacts when I first met my husband and he was really pleased when he found out I wore glasses, then disappointed when I got laser eye surgery

Yes and I have.

Just make sure not to place too much stake in what we think. Most of us are just randoms on a forum after all.

On a medical level it’s better NOT to wear glasses so that your vision doesn’t deteriorate as fast, or even improves if you are lucky.

The purpose of glasses is not medical. Rather it’s social: it’s making sure you don’t miss anything in your lectures and people don’t get pissed at you for not recognizing them. My advice is wear glasses only when you absolutely must.

Judging people based on glasses is shallow either way. Regardless of what direction you do it at.

But whoever thinks it makes them look smart, there are always clear glasses, the ones that don’t have a correction. I suggest wear those.

By the way the whole “looking smart” vs “looking ugly” business can be made irrelevant by the following argument. Whoever thinks glasses make them look smart, can always wear clear glasses. Whoever thinks glasses make them look ugly can always wear contacts. So basically, regardless of whether you have correction or not, you can make your outside look whatever you want it to be.

My recommendation is avoid correction because it’s better for your eyes that way.

You're gorgeous without glasses and I'm sure you'll look just as nice wearing them.
Take the time to find a style that really suits you and enjoy a nice confidence boost (and being able to see better as well).

Yes, it's nice to get compliments, but shouldn't you worry more about a person's personality? If they're that shallow that they judge you because you wear glasses, hopefully you have enough confidence in yourself that you can tell 'em to eff-off.

Time and again I see conventionally very attractive people who are horrendously ugly inside and very insecure. But, if I find a person's personality charming, it doesn't matter what they look like. If you wait fore Mr. Perfect, you're going to spend a lot of time being Ms. Lonely-and-sad

Just find some nice frames that you like and wear 'em--you need to see! And at your age, I don't think your eyes are going to get "better" that's very-very rare.

Anyway, do whatever you feel is best to make you happy,

Oh, and just in case you're wondering: I married little fat lady with glasses, the best thing I ever did too! And if my "fat lady" comment made you flinch, well, it how she refers to herself: fat is not a four letter word, just an adjective :P

I prefer a guy in glasses tbh. So sexy. By looking at the comments it works the other way. Ironically I'm not such a fan of girls wearing glasses and tend to only go for girls smaller than me

For a lot of guys, the 'Secretary' look is very sexy. 8)

I've noticed that I have a "thing" for glasses, on both men and women. Everyone I've been properly attracted to has had glasses. lol

they all look the same (within reason) with their clothes off and glasses are taken off or with the lights out...
(sorry not meant to offend, sexist remark just meant to get you to relax about such small details).

To be honest, as someone mentioned above
if someone is only interested in looks, then that's generally a bad sign or at the very least a sign
that the other person is really looking a relationship purely based on looks

in the long run
even with the best "chemistry"
not the best recipe for a long term relationship

better to find partners who are interested in you as a person and who want to be with you
because they want to spend time with you and walk through life together
regardless as to what life throws at you (within reason)

as the bible says
best be evenly yoked in a relationship
were each partner takes an equal and fair share in everything
good and bad

be a team where two becomes one
in the ideal world that is

so be yourself

Yes, without hesitation.

I don't think I've dated a girl who wore them regularly, but my ex wore them whenever she had her contacts out.

Hell yeah I'd date a girl with glasses! My 1st and 4th girlfriends wore glasses.

As a Russian speaker, I can tell you that in English they say "with glasses" and in Russian they say "in glasses". Are you by any chance speaking any slavic languages? Or could it be that other languages that are not slavic also share this kind of gramatic construction? What country are you from?
