That sounds like it has the potential of being incredibly painful. To answer the OP, I personally wouldn't have an issue with taking a pill. Hard pass putting anything metal in my scrotum since it contracts and expands.

If the pill didn't affect someone's sperm cell count then how would it prevent pregnancy?

This article I found says the main pill they have been studying for male contraception is supposed to reduce the production of sperm.

Quote:
Dimethandrolone undecanoate (DMAU) is a once-daily pill that suppresses two types of male hormones – follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH) – to simultaneously decrease production of testosterone and sperm without causing symptoms of low-testosterone (low-T).

How do they do that anyway? It puzzles me. Does someone have to look through a microscope and count them? One...Two...Three...
Or do they use some clever gadget? And how many is classed as normal? Three? Four? Ten?

It is one of those things that is a bit of an unknown.

I guess the way they get a sperm count is actually to use a microscope to count them. I thought it'd be more complicated than that. lol

Sperm count is generally determined by examining semen under a microscope to see how many sperm appear within squares on a grid pattern. In some cases, a computer might be used to measure sperm count. Semen samples can be obtained in a couple of different ways.

I'm not faulting men for not wanting it. My point is that women shouldn't want / do it either.

I wish the choices were easier for both men and women. There are no easy answers and women have had to do crazy things in the past by consuming hormones, or inserting metal into their bodies. I'm sure condoms are no fun either.

I'd say it sucks, but I don't want to make a pun.

Knowing mine, they would not stay in the squares!

On a personal note. I would not expect my partner to do something I would not be willing to do myself.

I've never used birth control.
It'll be interesting to see how many men will take the pill. I wish no one had to take it, in an ideal world.

I would take it. Though if it makes men put on weight I might not need to take it. Pretty much opted out of the dating game anyway now, relationships stress me out.

Hi guys ... just thought I’d share ... As an AS woman, no contraceptive has ever been a good “fit” for my system. Would you be prepared to try the male “pill” for your lady? Thoughts?

Finally, the ‘male Pill’ is here. So what DOES it do to your sex life? Hot flushes. Mood swings. And an extra half a stone — for him! After a year testing a revolutionary hormonal contraceptive for men, one brave couple lift the covers

No I would not take the pill

I didn't read the article because I am in hurry, but:

- Does it harm testosterone level? if it does then it harms sexual performance in penetration, so what's the point? better to go for 69 and fingering.
- Is it well tested?

Hot and cold running flashes ... mood swings ... 3 kgs of extra weight ... all for as much cardio-vascular stimulation as my achy-breaky heart can stand before it explodes?

I look at it this way: If a man is willing to take a pill that guarantees his artillery will be primed and ready to fire within 30 minutes, then he should also be willing to apply an unguent that will guarantee his artillery will fire only blanks.

Yes, but these piercings are "only" in the skin. Some women opt for labial piercings as well. I think they're for aesthetic purposes even though many people would find it unappealing.

My point is that some women have copper IUDs implanted inside their uterus.

They look like this and they stay in the woman's body for years:

Image

I was wondering if men would want the same copper IUDs pushed through their penis and stuck on the inside of their testicle for a few years, so their partner(s) wouldn't get pregnant.

It could be pulled of the penis out by a string after five years or so.

I'm sure they wouldn't want this. I don't blame them. I think birth control methods are all rather barbaric.

I can't answer that question since the structure and purpose of the testicles and uterus are so very different.
Though obviously different, the testicles are more analogous to the ovaries.

This has a pretty good diagram of the internal structure,
(my nursing school anatomy book from the 1980s had a superb diagram but that book was let go of a few decades ago)
