Nope, my parents wouldn't complain no matter what.
lucky you
I wish my family was open minded like that.
What options do you have?
My family is ok with other Palestinians, white European converts to Islam, Lebanese, Jordanians and maybe Syrians. Anything outside of that has varying levels of no. Marrying Middle Easterners outside of the countries I already mentioned is acceptable but criticized. The darker skinned Arabs though are less favorable. Indians and other South East Asians is really dishonorable. Africans is a huge scandal and looked at as wild. African Americans aren't even considered.
Jews? Literal treason whose penalty is expulsion from the family.
It sucks when your family is so backwards on this stuff. I wish they evolved and modernized like the rest of the world did.
Ok this is probably quite common. If its any consolation the people in the dishonourable list (Asians, Indians) think exactly the same way. Don't bring home an African.
I never understood the hate Africans got. They are easily the nicest, most kindhearted people ive ever met. Anti-African racism is really messed up
When I lived in Malaysia my best friend was a PhD student from Uganda. He was easily one of the nicest, well-read and most pleasant person I ever met. As with Funeral-empire he raved about girls from the horn of Africa (Ethiopia and Somali)
I recall a foriegn exchange student from my college that was from africa showing us like a slide show of like where he lived. It was kinda cool to see but yeah for sure he was used to the warmer climate, so like he even had a winter jacket on to go outside in the spring which seemed insane to me cause by then I thought we were getting some rather hot weather but he insisted it was chilly enough in the mornings to need the jacket. Cool guy for sure but yeah he was not used to the climate and altitude here in colorado and even complained about it a bit. I think he just ended up thinking we were all insane for living in the mountains and not hating it.
Yeah I've heard of culture shock but moving from the tropics to snow is a form of climate shock
For sure, cause yeah that guy was still wearing a winter jacket in the summer and still complaining of the cold. So I do not think he really appreciated the climate here.

Does he wear a scarf and beanie? that would complete the outfit
I think he may have at least had the beanie cannot remember if he had a scarf or not, but yeah he hated our cold weather in colorado during the summer. I mean for sure on hot summer days I feel it gets too hot here, and on those days he was still complaining of how cold it was. I don't want to make it sound like all he did was complain because he was in good humor about it but yeah he thought we were all insane wearing shorts and stuff in what he thought was colder weather. Like I think he enjoyed the experince of like coming to america as a foreign exchange student but if I had to guess he probably did not decide to move here because it was too cold.

TBH cold climates are not that big a deal if you have indoor heating in your car and house.
I did the reverse, moved from freezing cold Melbourne to live in Malaysia for 3 years....365 days a year of 90+ F degrees every day + 100% humidity. Walking outside mean't I had to have a shower every time I came back indoors.

Well I mean he was probably fine inside, but yeah he certainly commented on how crazy we were for like wearing shorts and stuff cause he still thought it felt cold outside. I mean perhaps he could have acclimated but he was just a foreign exchange kinda student so he wasn't going to be here that long either way. but while he was around it was cool or at least I appreciated his slide-show about where he was from.

Interesting....I always thought Australians were the only ones crazy enough to wear shorts in winter.

Well it wasn't winter at least not to us coloradans it was spring going into summer, but he dressed like it was winter. granted some colorado people think shorts and a hoodie is ok wear for snow outside but that is not super typical but you will see it from time to time.

Here in Melbourne every inner city male wears a Katmandu fleecy jacket with knee high shorts and colarado boots in winter, real predictable

My mother calls weddings "funerals", and says that people who get married are throwing their life away.
It's nothing to do with race or culture.

Just a guess: your mother wasn't really happy with her own marriage, was she?

Law enforcement in the family as a reason for Black, Latina and Middle Eastern brides being off limits?
Looks to me like a perfect example of problems raised by BLM

She was married to my dad over 40 years before being widowed. I think she was relatively happy in her marriage, and she still misses my dad a lot. Her issues started when my grandparents divorced, her sister married a psycho, and my brother had two divorces. She worries about risking the division of family assets by marrying the wrong person, etc.
She also has some dementia going on.

Be careful that sort of thinking will lead you straight into the clutches of BLM and Antifa terrorists. I'm contacting the LV GOP immediately to have you REEDUCATED!
