There’s a difference in playfully joking, for instance playing a game and a friend saying, “You suck.” And making those kinds of jokes... and calling you ugly, in my opinion. I had a female friend who used to joke around by poking fun at me, and I dumped her as a friend. It got old and made me feel bad.

Then you should avoid me like the plague Covid Virus. 8O

There’s a difference in playfully joking and putting someone down constantly, making them the punchline. My friends and I joke around and poke fun at eachother. It depends on how you do it. If you are like my old friend then yes I would avoid you. Not yet though, I don’t know you well enough.

Well, I am old, so strike one. 8O

Don't be deceived by my youthful online persona.
I could be your grandfather, almost.
You have been warned.

And, yes, I really am incorrigible.
Ask anyone. ;)

I've heard similar scenarios. I don't think she was being sarcastic based on the touching. She isn't going to touch someone she finds unattractive.
It doesn'st suprise me at all that the bystander male said what he said in front of any decent looking female and still backed it up later.

If a female is complimenting one fellow(1) in front of another male(2), the bystander male (2) seems almost obligated to contradict it - at least when the bystander male is NT and has any alpha qualities at all. He may not think it and may never have said anything about your looks, but for competition's sake he must contradict the compliment, even if he doesn't actually want to date the female.

The fact that he (male 2) repeated it later is inconsequential. Of course he will not back down. That would be showing weakness. It shows weakness by male(1) to even ask. You must be confident he (male 2) lost the "battle" as soon as she said that. It would have been more NT for male (1) to not ask male (2) why he said that unless male(1) immediatley follows it up with : so and so (the female) thinks I'm gorgeous - no matter what male (2) says, ever.

Just dont try to be an alpha if you're a beta. Take your compliments and be satified. They were real.
Which does not mean she wants to date you, unless she shows other obvious signs of interest in spite of and in front of male (2) and she is not already dating or showing interest at all in male (2).
Tricky situation to say the least. Some alphas take any female they can when they sense competition.

I don’t care about age. I have a friend who is in his late 40’s. No strikes. I thought incorrigible meant habitual, or unable to be changed. You are an incorrigible what? Or am I misunderstanding the concept of the word.

There are many nuances of the word.
Here are some I was alluding to.

Quote:

not manageable : unruly.

Is incorrigible an insult?
Even though incorrigible implies a person is kind of hopeless, it's often used as a light-hearted word.

He's an incorrigible flirt'
I'm an incorrigible optimist.

I am resistant to social pressures to behave in expected ways.
You could say I am a rebel, a recalcitrant, a non conformist.

This is due to the abuse I had to endure from society for most of my life.
A victim of ritual abuse and gangstalking. ;)
