Having a criminal record per se would not be a deal breaker to me, however some aspect of the crime in question could be a deal breaker were I aware. Having said that, it's my impression that hardened criminals are scary people even if you know nothing about them, so it's unlikely somebody like me would ever come close to a relationship with such a person.

It occurs to me there have been numerous examples of people who were convicted and served time but later reformed and went on to raise happy families, although I can't think of a specific example right now. Also you may come across such stories in religious communities as there is a strong belief in the ability for somebody to put their past behind them through religion. Whatever works.

it depends on the nature of crime; smoking weed is not the same as eating someone’s liver for example.

Exactly!
Good thing weed is legal here.

Let me help you with that.

We should take turns. We stop when he weeps and wants to scratch his eyes out at the site of boobs and moobs.

Who would want to date someone who grabbed some stranger’s boobs?

In NYC, for many years, even before pot was legalized, one couldn’t get a criminal record for simple pot possession.

Generally if you so much as 'look' like someone who'd lack self-control most people will look at you like you're ready to reach down your pants and masturbate in public, or like you'd rape any man, woman, or child who isn't escorted by another adult (long before you do something as forward as 'grab a boob'). There's a lot of limbic conditioning society has and it can pigeonhole and bulldoze that identity over you if you're not careful.

If the guy you just mentioned is schizophrenic or was bipolar and having a manic episode my condolences.

If the guy who did that has money, power, or is dominating; some women would be attracted to that like a woman who thinks that guys driving electric cars are emasculated  Yet I'm the one who's generally considered too screwed up in the head & too potentially controlling to derserve a relationship  The inmates have taken over Arkham Asylum & I'm too f#cked up cuz I'm saner than them

In the right context anything could be an exception.

That said, I am insanely picky.

I'd make a decision which would be based on what they actually did and whether I saw that as being a problem. I wouldn't necessarily base it on whether a legal system had decided they were a criminal. There are plenty of examples of people being convicted of crimes they did not commit, and of 'crimes' which were completely removed from legal systems at later dates as society changed.
