We hurt ourselves by pondering the worst, especially when there is no evidence for it. Viewing the world with a clear mind, accepting events as they are without over-reacting, being indifferent to those events get us by.

OMG, and in one of my posts I mentioned love and respect. I didn't know how better to explain what I needed though!

I just trust what others
perceive that I've done.

s**t happens, people die,
I take the blame. 'Tis easy
enough.

No; that was me. LOL. The Aryan Brotherhood value Love And Respect. And the SS (Gestapo) thing besides... I didn't want people to get the wrong impression!

U88, its tricky. Everyone has different tools and strengths that aid them in assessing the reality around them. This leads some people to be more rose-colored-glasses sorts, leads others to be more analytical, and sometimes that analytical side can cause depression or some negative aspects to thinking just because you'd rather engage reality for what it is rather than gloss it over (sometimes you feel you need to just to cope adequately).

I think what bothers me more than anything is just the conformity thought-policing bit that tends to happen not so much by most people in particular but its kind of a collective effect, kinda like if your too honest with yourself about things that if you don't believe in discriminating positive or negative and end up veering a bit toward the dark side that you don't deserve the same things other people do because your making a disreputable choice. We all built differently and unless your harming someone with it I think people just need to deal with the fact that no everyone's like them or wants to be, its not something that values a person's worth or common sense really.

It's hard to realize that we don't measure up to someone's standards... but just remember that those standards are not linear. (Linear being, the person who rejects you wants an 88 or above and you only score 72.) It's not a matter of you being not good enough. It's just two shapes, encountering one another in a chance collision in outer space... and it's really no wonder when those random shapes happen not to be corresponding.

You know, I really wish more people listened to their own hearts on that level. When people do get real hung up on image first, care more about the other person being a trophy wife or husband, and unfortunately from society's pressures it happens a lot; they're really denying their own happiness.
