Guys like David DeAngelo are the male equivalent to the women who wrote "the rules." They all write sexist garbage telling people how to get a mate, or in the male case, easy sex... People have been having relationships for thousands of years without needing this fodder, they are just preying on the insecurities of dumb modern-day people who easily fall for stuff like this, and have made it a lucrative market.

Yeah, I think the only reason why guys like Dave DeAngelo or things like Cosmopolitan have had meaning or sway is because societally we have been turning into narcissistic self-centered as*holes and from that standpoint we've been making it true. I'm really starting to think people in those days just had a much healthier and more realistic outlook on life in general. Being that's the case though, real sadly, I don't really think there's much hope for our generation in terms of being happy in relationships just because we're so used to living like that.

Seems pretty true to me (i.e. it's about "Chemistry" rather than being nice.)

If I don't fancy someone, no amount of presents/attention/pursuit would make me change my mind. In fact if the guy continued after I had rejected him it would really irritate me.

However, I also agree with those who say "be yourself" rather than fake it. I think you are missing the point however, i.e. the deluge of "niceness" is also fake, and the guy should just lay off & be his real self!

The formatting alone screamed "Let me relieve you of your money! "

A ton of "technical terms" and "key ideas" that are in all-caps. Constant addressing of the reader in a way that suggests "I can teach you all sorts of things! ...now buy this." Not to mention that the whole thing is a gross generalization of women, and an effort to make women out to be some sort of prize to be won, some hunting trophy that you have to learn to catch, rather than human beings.

^^^ this is true. Also, people who don't understand how to use paragraphs, put words in CAPITALS for no reason, and repeat the same pointless sentence at the end of every section.

The bit about wanting men to be interesting is true though.... at least for me. I could never go out with someone who just did their days work and came home and sat in front of the TV, you need something to talk about.
