I can't speak for the rest, but I figured I'd mention that I know I wouldn't like your approach--I'd go find somebody who didn't call me boring and actually gave a damn whether I went somewhere with him.
In my experience women tend to get over relationships more quickly than men, especially if they were the instigators of the break-up. I wouldn't write somebody off as "rebounding" unless she's clearly hung up over the last guy and not taking the time to get to know you well.
