My question is...is this normal?

Yes it's normal, look at the world - millions of years of war, bloodshed, and poverty... are people really 'normal'? Just because a word exists doesn't mean it has any real meaning, and normal is one of those words. It's better to use more specific words - when someone is sick, instead of saying say "they are not normal" you can say "they not healthy". Normal is used as a catch all phrase, so it's better to replace it with something more precise.

I'd say don't worry about it. Just go with what makes you happy. I mean, it's not like you're saying you don't want anything ever, just not right now. This time last year I'd have said exactly the same thing... actually a couple of months ago I'd have said exactly the same thing... and now I've ended up with a bf and fairly happy with it... not entirely sure how that happened :s
