I stand by this, I really do-people needed to be confronted by this because it was going unsaid publicly for a long time

I tried to call it out at times, but mostly being ignored. :/

well what matters is it has been called out, either the forum can learn, or they will ban me and forget all about it

And I think for the men on this forum, the "tough love" or intervention method could work. For others, it's a matter of taking care of the basics.

Not him.

Oh, thank God that someone made this thread.
It used to be worse here- in my early days in the forum, there was a guy who more than once expressed the opinion that all women deserved to be raped, and noone batted an eyelid- but when a female poster made a thread expressing frustration with men (it was entitled "I hate men", but the actual content was fairly mild) it got jumped on and locked for being sexist, and that type of thing was fairly typical of the forums at the time.

Did I make that thread?

I don't remember, but I don't think it was you. I don't recall the writing style being like yours.

my problem with toad (and this is the 5th time I've explained this to you people)
is people constantly give him advice, he disregards it and acts (and says) how his life is so bad and how no one understands
when there are many people here who have it so much worse and do so much better with so much less
he basically is spitting on people like that, and people he has no idea of how their past could have gone

Just because other people may have had it worse, does not meant those issues have no significance for him. Toad has every right to post about his issues here.

I don't think anyone is saying the problems are not real to the person, moreso saying or implying other people "don't understand" when its more than likely most of us do.

Does anyone have just the oposite problem?

I have been bugged by (I lost count)
people "You need to get a girlfriend".

Does anyone have just the oposite problem
where people bug you to death aobout
"Why don't you go get a boy/girl friend"
line over and over?

---But, you just don't WANT to do that?

Because you are too busy doing other
things?

I went to the park with my brother and
bvuilt a snowasaurus rex in the snow
today.

Thats one of the things I do for fun,
but it does not matter so much about
what you do, as the fact that you are
doing other things and you don't want
a boy/girl friend is the point.

Am I alone in this?

^ No I don't think you are alone. I'm lucky that my family don't care if I have a boyfriend but I too would rather do my own thing than care about relationships.

I used to get "Why don't you have a boyfriend?" "How can you not have a boyfriend?" before I got my first partner. Then people seemed to have stopped asking me it after I said I have one and then I had one. Instead I would get "why did you two break up?"

On dating sites I used to get "There must be something wrong with you if you haven't got a boyfriend"
Mum nags me about a job too.

All my family care about is me having a job. They want me to live their lives, not mine. Personally I am working hard to find a job I don't wake up depressed about and would rather be nagged about a boyfriend.

Mum: "I don't care what you do in your life as long as you get a job and are happy and its not a prostitute".

I wish I could build a snowasaurus rex. But it is 25 C outside. The hills are looking increasingly desert-like too. I guess I could build a dustasaurus rex.

yeah I never liked the idea of a traditional life
when I was young I only wanted a girlfriend because it was socially expected of me, same with a job (well money doesn't suck but a career isn't what I want)
there is one job I want though its incredibly strange and I dare say I don't think there is a real market for it
