I'm wondering about those with AS who have and/or have dated someone with strong religious beliefs.

I have AS and consider myself a born again Christian. I've been in two committed relationships both which did not do well in part due to having AS.

Have any people of faith dated others with AS who have similar beliefs? What can you say about how these two factors have improved or been a liability to your relationship?

If this has been discussed before, Mods are free to move this to the appropriate thread.

The farthest I ever got with a girl was this amazing, cute and smart girl who happened to be Catholic. I don't remember religion coming up, but I'm sure she figured out I wasn't religious, and she soon wasn't answering my emails or calls. Good Christian my ass. I would've accepted her faith, and gone through a Catholic ceremony, I liked her that much. But she wasn't willing to accept me for who I was. f**k her to hell.

I'll never date a Christian girl again. Just like they won't compromise on someone like me, I won't compromise for them and go through the stupidity that is a religious ceremony. I won't deal with someone who'll want to change me because I don't believe in her invisible white man in the clouds. I've had enough experience now with Christian girls that I regard them to be somewhat mentally inferior. They have no inquisitiveness. No desire to seek knowledge. Only to follow what an archaic book tells them to be, which is utterly pathetic, and I have no respect for.

Do you even know that thats the reason she stopped seeing you? It could have been nothing to do with it.

You don't believe in hellfire for other theists, you don't baptize, what else you don't do? You don't believe in trinity?
To all the Christian sects here(Maronites, Grec orthodox,Grec Catholics, Protestans, Armenian orthodox, Armenian catholics, Copts...etc), your sect would be considered as an alien non-chritian sect, baptism is a basic foundation for them.

So when I complain about how Christians see me as a someone who deserves hell , please don't step in and say that's not true because your sect is not a significant representative of Christianity in this part of the world.

I mean in general.

In the end, it's all the same worship of a talking dead guy who was his own dad.

If you wanted to put in a cheap, disrespectful shot at other people's views, why didn't you just cut to the chase instead of setting it up like you actually had a valid discussion point about baptism?

Evangelists aren't a significant representative of Christianity, either. They're just the ones with the television shows and lobbyists. The last person on earth who should be telling people who is and is not Christian enough is someone who's not even Christian. Mind your own backyard and we'll mind ours. In the meanwhile, accept information as it's given to you and learn something.

Quite honestly, everyone that I'm seeing complain that they'd never date a religious person because they're too judgmental and closed minded has been demonstrating an absolute lack of acceptance of other people's views and refusal to learn anything different than what they've already decided. That hasn't been all atheists in this thread, just the ones who are complaining about people who believe something different than them. There's a difference between I would prefer to be with someone who's views are similar to my own. and I could never date something who worships an imaginary dead guy in the sky. The difference is a level of respect for other people. This tells me that the problem isn't with the people who are being excluded, it's with the people who are doing the excluding.

Ahh the hostility ("You are not christian , shut up!) ....the tolerance. What's making you think that I think abaisse is not Christian? :)

Look, I was just being scientific. To 99% of Christian churches in the WORLD, baptism is a must in order to be considered as a proper Christian, some practice infant baptism , others practice baptism at older age.
But t o 99% of Christian churches , baptism = christening.

I was just saying how most Christian churches would view those who don't baptize ,ie abaisse.

Therefore, it's clearly that abaisse's church is very exceptional church and therefore she doesn't have the right to say what the other 99% of Christians would say about atheists as much as I don't "have the right" (according to your logic) to say who's christian and who's not :)

Evangelists are quite rare here in Lebanon , certainly I was not just talking about the Evangelists or the Jehovah's witnesses.

I accept information as it's given ,but you have no right to shut me up. I am free to criticize any religion or any church.

Quite honestly, I am not included in that comment of yours. I have absolutely no problem in dating a god(s)-worshiper as long that person is not viewing me as inferior or as hell-deserving , all what I am saying that such person is rare at least in my backyard..

I am not sure to who you are addressing, but since you are quoting ME, then you're most probably addressing me. Well, your assumption is wrong.

You should quote Brianruns10 while writing something like that, do not throw us in the same basket.

My comment was about more than just you. Please stop taking everything so personally and consider the context of the discussion. And the next time you call me hostile, I'll get hostile. Then you'll know the difference.

One, not all Protestants baptize. We are a Protestant denomination.

As for my family... it seems anything I say is just being put out there for you to criticize, so why would I give you personal information like that? Let's just say that your people greatly dislike my people. You have further grounds to dislike everything I post. (although if you look at me, it's not too hard to figure out where my family is)

Syrians? Iranians? Israelis?

And by looking at you , you look like me: big nose, white skin but not pale, dark hair... Mideast traits.

I won't hate you because of your origin.

I dunno.

You can start by not assuming that I think you are going to burn in hell.

In return, I will not make the assumption that will add me to your collection of four wives.

:lmao:

We're good here now.
