Fair enough, I'm on almost 5000 calories a day and over 300 grams of protein to maintain my weight at 220lbs but I have switched to whole wheat and organic food as it is a much healthier alternative to white pasta.

Meanwhile I gain muscle on like 80-100g protein a day and like 2800 calories (1k deficit to cut.) Ah, genetics...

I would say mostly it goes like this..

13-18 year old women like the Hayden Christensen type physique.
18-25 year old women like the Brad Pitt Fight Club physique.
25-40 year old women like the Hugh Jackman type physique.

But are these preferences influenced by the media?

Lean build - Hayden Christensen, Justin Bieber

Athletic - Brad Pitt Fight Club Physique

Muscular - Hugh Jackman, Gerald Butler, Christian Bale, Tom Hardy

Powerlifter/Wrestler - The Rock, Vin Diesel

You guys eat an obscene amount of calories and protein! I'm like 1000knives here, I can easily gain 1.8 kgs a month on about 3000 calories and 150g of protein a day.

Or just eat more.

Not easy when my regular diet is already very high protein and high carb. I eat around 5k calories daily as is. I dont see that number going any higher.

GOMAD. Gallon of Milk a Day.

Or just be happy being 150lbs. I'd be happy that way, anyway.

lol, i drink close to a gallon of milk a day, and atleast 4 eggs, plus many meats.

I would, but im 120lbs, not 150.

120lbs really?? Didn't you say before that you're about 6 ft. too?

to be fair, i should add my reasoning - i don't preselect men based on their body type. but since i do value intellectual and artistic pursuits more than physical ones, and since i am drawn towards people who aren't particularly image-focused or vain... someone who is high maintenance who spends a lot of time on their appearance probably isn't going to "mesh" with me very well (and they would likely feel the same way about me)!

i think if people want to know what most women of a certain age group find attractive, then check out the men that they are dating/having sex with, not whichever men they are checking off on some survey. if those men are attractive enough to date, then... they are attractive enough to date! ideal types are kind of fake constructs that don't mean anything in real life dating, except to the most shallow people (i.e. those who won't date anyone outside the ideal, or who only care for appearance and nothing else). i think you will find that as a group, women are willing to date men from a whole range of body types.

Yeah, not into the Hugh thing either. For eye candy, I prefer lean, nice face, longer hair, narrow jaw. Am low 30's in age.

You know most of the "chests" in 300 were airbrushed on right? Says so right in the audio commentary.

To the muscle dudes; are 17" biceps decent (220 pounds at 6'1")?

I don't workout at all, and that's how big my right bicep is; I do a lot of lifting and outdoor work though on a rural property (interesting to see if work outdoors makes someone similar to someone who goes to the gym).

Only 2% of the non-overweight male population have biceps bigger than 16". Outdoor work will be just as good for your upper arms as biceps curls IF it's heavy enough. With that being said, by not working out, you'll miss out on other muscle groups.
