The name's Jeff, and I'm 19 years old, and in my sophomore year in college. I'm a confirmed Aspie and have known about it for 2 years now. I hail from upstate New York, and go to college there too. I prefer not to reveal the details on that.

I was always socially awkward, and had few friends, though I don't think I've ever been truly bullied. Most people were indifferent or mildly friendly towards me most of the time.

My parents quickly realized I wouldn't last long in a public school environment and sent me to a private school with small classes and a somewhat unorthodox teaching style, and I flourished there, in academic terms. Bless them and their protective souls.

Most of the very good friends I've had all ended up moving away. I also had a girlfriend, but I ended up losing her because Most of my social life is now, you guessed it, online. There's something about the Internet that makes it easier to socialize for me.

Anyway, a little more about myself:

Interests: Writing, video games (VERY MUCH), animals. Most of my writing is "fan fiction", but I do plan to write something original someday.

Food: Chicken, pizza, ketchup, milk.

Movies: 300 (THIS IS SPARTAAAA!! !!), Jurassic Park, Lord of the Rings Trilogy.

TV: I don't watch much TV.

Music: I'll listen to just about anything, except gangsta rap and hip-hop. I love rock and metal, though. Favorite bands are Breaking Benjamin, Disturbed,

Books: I'm like books with factoids. I absorb random and useless knowledge far too easily. Probably due to my AS.

How my AS is: My personal AS is kind of mild.

-My biggest problem is texture and taste. I can't stand soda and mushrooms.
-Absorbs random knowledge easily.
-I talk to myself a lot. Often out loud.
-Eye contact is difficult. I call it the laser-eye effect.
-I used to have a major problem tearing myself away from video games, but I've gotten much better.
-I think one of the reasons I have trouble talking with people is that I feel like they're not worth the trouble...it's like a superiority issue or something. Yet at the same time, I have difficulty identifying with many of my fellow aspies because they just seem weird to me.
-I don't express a whole lot of emotions other than contentment and happiness. Sometimes I wish I could be a bit more emotional.

That's about what I feel like saying now.

I'm not giving out my name online, but I will tel you that I am somewhat short, a resident of Southern California. My name refers sad phenomenon of my urges to play a game or read manga\watch anime becoming rare after a back surgery to fix scoliosis, whose drug regimen I was on caused me to gain much weight. I think the lack of desire to game may be related to my weight, as people who lose weight typically speak of elevated energy, mood, etc. I am coldly logical when analyzing things and bluntly honest, the latter often to humorous effect. I have very thick skin, meaning it's very hard to hurt me with words. I was once hardcore, but that is no more.

Meh, I wrote out a really long post introducing myself and ended up with a mysql error that deleted all my work. So this time, I'll be brief. :?

Currently 23 years old living in Tasmania, diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder at 19 (wasn't informed of the diagnosis until late 2005 due to a forgivable mistake on my parents' part). Late diagnosis was due to being the quiet one of nine children, I don't hold any grudges or anything about it, but I am disappointed about not knowing there was a descriptor for what was "wrong" with me. I am also asexual and have a long-distance significant other despite my intense distate for romance.

My hobbies include gaming (RPGs), drawing, listening to music (videogame/symphonic/orchestra/etc), and watching educational television and clean comedy (especially that of UK origin).

That's all for now. I'll lurk around mostly since I tend to have little to add to conversations, but I registered anyways just in case I do have something to say.

Ever have one of those days where nothing goes right?

Yeah, me too. I just erased my entire message.

Anyway, call me Beksie. I'm nearly 24, I'm from New England, and I was diagnosed with AS this past summer. I graduated from college, and have a BA in Communication Arts and English. I love media in general, sci-fi/fantasy in specific, but not Star Trek or manga. I'm a good cook. I can knit (but I never do). Politically, I'm a liberal and a feminist (but not necessarily a liberal feminist). I'm left-handed. I played saxaphone in school but am out of practice, and can play guitar (though the stub to my low E string is stuck in the body so I can't finish restringing my guitar). I should probably be writing for NaNoWriMo rather than posting here. I loved Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers when I was younger, and find this extremely funny:

NB: Austin St. John (the tough one) is American, and I'm pretty sure James Maclurcan (the pretty one) is Australian.

Hi, I'll go by Lortiz for now. I don't know if I have Asperger's or not, but I am seeking answers, understanding, and resources. My mind doesn't stop. I think in pictures and I spend most of my day creating stories, writing novels , or drawing. I have strong fascinations with seashells, animation, microbiology, and insects. On summer nights, I turn the light on so I can attract insects to the window to observe them. Sometimes I bring my favorite insects inside the house. ((This REALLY annoys my friends and family)) I love fantasy, science fiction, and comic books. Enya is my favorite musical artist. I hate shopping for clothes.

I'm Stephen. I'm 16, and was diagnosed with Asperger's 5 years ago. I'm into photography (I'm partial to film and Pentax-- I'll have to get some of my photos up sometime), music, electronics, and vintage audio. I go a science and math magnet school where at least half of the students, and at least one of the teachers, all have Asperger's too, which is pretty neat 8) . Music, for me, is a passion, especially classic rock. I could easily listen to The Wall or something similar in its entirety in one sitting.
