Still am single, having had no replies.

Well, seeing how everyone here has Asperger’s…most people are probably shy. Also, as I was browsing the last few pages I noticed that most people are looking for something specific – requesting someone who looks a certain way, has certain personality traits, someone close to their city, or someone the same age. And seeing how this forum isn’t too active…I would be surprised if ANYONE is getting lots of replies. I’ll talk to you, but I might not be what you’re looking for…I’m definitely not near Birmingham, haha.

I am pursuing a science-related degree, I would consider myself to be “geeky”. I like learning about other science fields that I am not studying (physics, astronomy, geology) for fun, though I am not too serious about them.

My biggest “special interest” is analyzing fiction. I love a good story – the more there is to think about and tear apart, the better! So mostly reading books, but really any medium it happens to take, I’m not picky: movies, TV, comics, even a video game. Just about everything I like is in the sci-fi/fantasy category, though I recently discovered anime, so a little of that as well. After absolutely everything I see/read, I jump online to try to find good discussions. I am of course interested in real life discussions, but you know how NTs are…after seeing a movie, they’ll only talk about how hot suchandsuch actor is, or how awesome the explosions were .

I love animals, though I don’t own any at the moment. That will change as soon as I am out of university housing .

I am not formally diagnosed with AS, but I’ve never been evaluated, either. Sometimes I worry that I am not severe enough for diagnosis, though I am still significantly frustrated because of social limitations. It is very difficult for me to meet and befriend people. I come across as very shy and uninterested, though I do open up when I get to know people. I am very interested in getting out of the house, into the world, traveling and experiencing new things. But I feel like there are “friends required” signs everywhere…it’s hard to do things on your own, it looks odd and attracts attention…so I usually just stay in.

I am interested in getting to know more people, especially Aspie people! Please message me if you think we have something in common. I am not interested in hook-ups or meeting people in person right away. I’d prefer to get to know someone as a friend, and if it goes somewhere, then great. If not, oh well.

Haha actually my comment was meant to be in tongue in cheek and poking fun at myself (although sarcasm clearly doesn't work on the internet) but ta anyway. Yeah I have noticed that the majority of people on here happen to be American (I have nothing against Americans it's just an observation)

I have many blog postings there. I love to write, and you will probably learn more about me from my writing than from anything else. There's a little of everything there ... poetry, essays, fiction, travelogues, political rants.

I'm also a very big reader. I've finished over 40 new books just this summer alone ...

Physically, I'm 5 ft 4, around 120 lbs, with long dark hair ... almost black, but not quite. I'm in excellent condition and I love to hike into the mountains and deserts of the American West. I mostly hike alone, because I enjoy the solitude and because I've never met anyone who felt the same way about wild places as I do. To me, wilderness is holy ground. When I'm in the wilderness, I become simply one more wild creature there.

I love listening to classical music ... in my mind, Beethoven's 9th Symphony is the most astounding thing ever created by a mere human being.

Movies and Airplanes. And music. Classical, Opera, and Film score...and Jazz too. I love screenwriting, songwriting, and 3D modeling. I wallow in Shakespeare and Shubert, I bask in the glory of James Horner, the tragedy of Mozart, and the tranquility of Alan Silvestri. I relish the arts and aviation. Sure, I have my quirks, but if you seek a piano-playing, orchestra-conducting, relatively happy-go-lucky guy with an aspiration to sail around the world in pursuit of high adventure, then I might be someone you'll like. Oh, and recently I've been commissioned to write a feature length film score! University of Southern California, here I come! (In a few years, probably )

I love traveling! And I can fly for free all over the West Coast and through much of the east coast, so I'm pretty flexible with location.

For girls, here's what totally wins points with me, as far as I'm concerned:
-If you listen to classical, opera, film score, jazz, any of that wins MAJOR points with me
-If you love movies (extra credit if you love old movies)
-If you can at least understand my passion for aviation and airplanes
-If you enjoy cooking (because I love cooking with somebody)
-If you are at least mildly slim (yes it's superficial, I know, but there has to be some element of physical attraction)
-If you have dark red hair...I have no idea why, but I'm a complete sucker for dark red hair
-If you enjoy reading
-If you have even a remotely similar sense of humor, if you laugh at playful cheesiness and tackiness
-If I can relate to you, and if you can relate to me
-If you enjoy good philisophical conversations while listening to beautiful orchestra pieces

Here's what loses points:
-If your music playlist is dominated by rap or rock (sorry, but music is a tremendous part of my life, and if I can't relate to you musically, chances are I won't relate with many other things)
-If you never start conversations...sorry, but I've dealt with my fair share of girls who almost NEVER started the conversation, NEVER called, NEVER emailed, or anything...I mean, they loved talking to me, they just never started the conversation, and that gets really annoying after a while
-If you have tatoos
-If you have a gratuitous number of piercings
-If you smoke frequently
-If anime is an obsession (again, I have nothing against anime or girls who like it, I just can't relate to it, ergo I can't find it attractive)

That's all I can think of for now...haha, I post here because the odds of meeting the person right for me at a bar or nightclub here in Boise is pretty much astronomical.
