Why do girls hate shy guys?

No, I have the opposite issue. I am a conventionally attractive, conventionally dressing white guy attracted to gender queer and curvy black and Hispanic women.

I rarely meet either in my social circle. And I'm not really that shy FYI .

Ok, and this thread was a response to a fat chick who complained that guys were so shallow for rejecting her. This thread is a response to show that women can be the same way.

Well, then that just goes to show that men and women are the same, but show those similarities in different ways.

Shy guys are underrepresented on TV. Even on The Big Bang Theory, none of the male main characters is actually shy.

OK, Sheldon is self-conscious about a lot of things, but he knows how to hide it with arrogance. Leonard's shyness is basically a display of his modesty. He's also unassertive, anxious and clumsy, but eventually, he still does it. Howard isn't shy at all, and Raj... well, concerning women, he has much more fundamental problems.

The only really shy character on the show was Lucy, and she was female.

Girls don't hate shy guys, unless they are also ugly and/or wimpy. Give them a shy, compliant "hot stud" and they will be overjoyed. Give them an ugly /wimpy guy and it won't matter if he is shy or not, they will hate you for giving him to them.

That's rather harsh, don't you think?

My attention to detail hates that introverted, shy, wimpy, quiet, and others are all being used interchangeably here.

Oops, I mean yeah, it's not like people like them are bad people. If you ask me, I would much rather have guys like that than to be with a guy who's disrespectful, violent, overconfident, etc.

If guys hit on women a lot, they will not fail. I know because I've seen totally gross, obnoxious, slobs who can easily pick up a different women everyday, and they do it by pretty much just hitting on every woman they see.

that is likely because those "totally gross obnoxious slobs" invariably have some useful degree of social intelligence/body language fluency, the lack of which is behind many an aspie's problems.

Kardashian woman type: an insecure Caucasian female who wishes she was of African heritage, obsessed with dating wealthy athletic "African heritage" male celebrities.

No. I don't see the Kardashian type" as a real woman, and I don't think most males on here do either. Thank God. But the simple truth of MY life is, had I not pursued becoming physically fit and capable of defending myself, I would probably still be a virgin today (as in never having experienced male to female copulation). Every woman who expressed interest in me wasn't for my intellectual capacity nor my listening skills. It was always because they were physically attracted to me. Plain and simple. "stud muffins" shy or not, attract more women than ugly, weak, wimpy men. There are exceptions. There always are. But these exceptions are not common place. As the song says "I've traveled the world and the seven seas" (and I have) "everybody's looking for something" (and wimpy ugly shy is usually NOT on that list, not nice but true)

Body language, I don't know about. But I believe that "social intelligence" is not synonyms with "obnoxiousness".

I think the fact is, there are plenty of single available females, and the guys who hit on them most, are going to be the ones who get them.



I seriously doubt that "shy" and "nice" are strikes against you. But being a "hermit", I think thats... a deal killer. Unless you are trying to meet girls on the internet, which is probably what you should be doing.

Again, there are always exceptions, but statistically this thought is simply incorrect. Generally, attractive women who are with an unattractive man has extraneous reasons. And if she is with someone who is both unattractive and obnoxious, then there usually are extensive mitigating circumstances. Money, illness, history of abuse, etc. As a general rule of society, unless you are wealthy, then you'd better be attractive in one manner or another, usually physically (without being an idiot).

As a child, I knew an old beggar who would ask every woman who passed by if she wanted to f***. He would "get lucky" about 5 times a week or so. He also suffered many slaps, multiple nose breaks, kicks in the groin, and arrest for sexual harassment. He would ask some of the women who agreed why they said yes. The answers varied from revenge on a cheating partner to taking a risk in an otherwise cautious lifestyle to pity (pity f***s? Really?).

Today that type of behavior would likely result in the person being imprisoned for life., but it still simply proves that there are always exceptions, nothing more.

Hit on women obsessively enough and you're likely to find yourself in jail.
