Yes, you can tell that from a picture. There's nothing wrong with looking good, but if your entire life is based on that, then yeah you don't really have much to offer aside from that. That's where high maintenance comes into play: a person who's only goal is to look good needs constant reassurance that they do indeed look good. Sorry, but that's tedious and high maintenance. So yeah, if I were a dater, I'd go for the girl that doesn't spend half the day attempting to look like a super model and spends that time doing something she actually enjoys-- that's something a potential partner can bond with. I'd rather spend my time doing some activity we both enjoy than spending my time reassuring someone that they do indeed look good.

This is a stupid statement. Look at how many athletes have enhanced their lives through fitness. Take Dolph Lundgren for example. Did you know that he's a chemical engineer? He also knows 5 languages and 5 forms of martial arts, not to mention he's an actor.

Cool, you found an anomaly-- they do exist.

Arnold, Stallone, The Rock, Any wrestler, any sports player, any martial artists. is that enough?

Yep, I'm sure they're all rocket scientists under the blob of protein and they're all just misunderstood.

Booo hooo hoo. Would you like a tissue for your tears? You've never even told us if you'll ever tried to get in shape. You're really judgmental over people who work to get and stay in shape. There must be an underlining reason for this. By the way and this goes for anyone, until you have actually calorie counted and attempted to get in shape; you have no right to complain. I'm not even in the shape I want to be in..YET. That has a lot to do with me having to have flat foot surgery and the other foot still needs to be done. Everyone has different genetics and some have a harder time loosing fat, or staying in shape; however most people who complain are simply lazy. George Bush Sr. was an assh**e, but he did one thing right when he had a council on fitness. I love America, but people here have become lazy, spoiled, self-entitled brats.

They're certainly living a better life than you are, even Arnold with his love child.

http://www.beachbody.com/beachbodyblog/ ... ies/page/2

This is a BeachBody blog. BeachBody is where I have gotten all of my home workouts. These are just regular people who have done Shaun T's Insanity and had great results. Men have it much easier losing weight and gaining muscle than women do. Men always get great results. I only lost inches so I don't even go by the scale anymore. I would actually gain weight because of muscle. I thought something like this would go great with Aspies with having the obsessions. Getting obsessed with something like this you not only feel better, but you get results by looking better and you really feel like you accomplish something if you can do these kind of workouts. It's a win-win-win. Maybe if you try something like this, you might respect people more that do this kind of thing because it isn't easy. The person who does this is someone who is consistent, likes challenges, isn't lazy and isn't a quitter. Maybe this can be your next goal.

If the insanity workout is too much, they have Insanity 30 with 30 min workouts, and P90x with Tony Horton definitely gives men muscles. With Insanity you need no weights, but with P90x you do need weights. When I did P90x I had never felt more in shape, but I wanted more results so I changed to Insanity and Insanity 30 and stayed with Turbo Fire for now because I'm used to the workouts, but I'm getting bored. I just stopped all of my alcohol nightcaps. Now I want to again try Insanity once school is out. I need a challenge.

Here's an example of the Insanity workouts where you don't need any extra workout equipment. Who wouldn't want to look like that? And it's doable!

So you in the camp with sjw then when it comes to free speech and political correctness just on different issues

Losing weight is a losing struggle
I was able to do it while not working but it's near impossible while working. I need energy and to be awake and I can't work feeing hungry and sick :(

You can still starve yourself during weekends, especially if you have something sedentary to do.

Fasting works really well for weight loss. It seems to make one satisfied on less food, especially when one is used to overeating.

Sports drinks can be used for electrolytes, as long as they are low-calorie. I fast for about 48 hours. It's not really that bad, and it can be done in a weekend. There aren't any long-term negative health effects that I'm aware of, unless one has a pre-existing condition that would be worsened by fasting.

I think not having enough carbohydrates harms your brain, making it age faster. Unlike your muscles, it can't use stored fat as fuel. However, if you're not moving much during the weekend, a small amount of food should be enough.

Another consequence of not eating anything at all I found when I tried it, a few weeks ago, is that your throat and the inside of your mouth can get really sensitive and bleed when you finally have breakfast on Monday.

On the other hand, hunger is an awesome ingredient to enhance the taste of any dish, and it's cheap

There are actually a lot of studies that show the benefits of fasting. I had them bookmarked somewhere, but I'm not sure if I still have them. The point is, it's not usually unhealthy, and actually has health benefits for many people. Like anything, it depends on the individual. The brain can use ketone bodies for energy. Obviously people should consult their doctors before starting any extreme type of diet. But it would be with worth looking into anyway.

I have fasted many times. It did not harm me, and temporarily increased my sensitivity to taste, so that I did not need to use as much salt, sugar, or spices. If I hadn't gone back to old habits I could have possibly kept this benefit. I lost fat quickly, and did not lose muscle, as I strength train regularly. I have never fasted for more than 48 hours, but people fast for longer periods successfully. I just lack the discipline.

The horror....

Newsflash, everyone!

Sports drinks are just soft drink with electrolytes (Magnesium, Sodium, Potassium) added - which you can get from other places!

Forget calorie counts - I'd be more concerned of sugar content per drink!

Same thing with so-called 'Vitamin Water' - energy drinks with half the nutrients you actually need slapped into it, along with Taurine and Caffeine.

Oh, and for the love of god, don't deny energy drinks are just soft drinks with twice as much Caffeine and other added chemicals.

If anything, drinking a bottle of coke for the caffeine content only made me feel less energetic before a swim session - it was the protein, fats and carbs from my healthy diet and foods earlier that gave me my energy.

My diet is personally high in fortified foods and supplements to get my nurtitional needs - milks, cereals, fortified drinks, liquid breakfast drinks.

For breakfast I take a multi-vitamin, drink strawberry milk, and two UP&Gos (liquid breakfast).

In just one serving that's 42g Protein, 13g Fats, 75g Carbs, 4g Fibre, and a cr*p ton of almost every nutrient. And that's meal 1 of 6!! !

Then again, I'm a bit of an extremist regarding health and have, at times, risked over-nutrition, which is getting too much of a nutrient rather than too little.

There's the Recommended Dietary Intake (RDI) which is what I've always considered the bare minimum for nutritional needs and simply guidelines, and then there's the Upper Limit (UI), the maximum amount a human being can tolerate before it puts your health at risk.

The UI for Calcium, being 3,500 for a male about 18 or older, I've reached 3,000-3,400 plenty of times before....not my fault so many milk and breakfeast foods put so damn much calcium in them.

Calcium is probably one of the only nutrients the average American who doesn't care signficantly about their health gets enough of, along with Sodium (salts), fats, sugar, etc.

@ Outrider

I only use sports drinks for electrolytes when fasting. It's a matter of convenience. I don't actually drink them at any other time. The type of fasting I do requires me to consume less than 200 calories per day or it's not effective. So I can't really get them from anywhere else if I want to stay below the limit.

So I drink water, tea, and if I feel weak I have some diluted low-calorie sports drink. I suppose I could take some potassium, magnesium, and then add some sugar and salt to a glass of water, but I don't think it's worth the trouble.

Sugar is also not really that big of a deal if it's only once in awhile. Soft drinks are actually much worse than sports drinks because the acids present in them damage tooth enamel.

No to mention cause acid reflux in those prone to it, like myself.

I can no longer tolerate soft drinks or caffeine myself.

Any unhealthy or processed food.

Something to do with gut bacteria and what my stomachs use to.

I was actually surpirsed last week, that for the first time I felt disgusted at the idea of eating the one fast food I usually eat just fine - pizza.

That's what I love about healthy eating - it's not just good for you, but once use to it the idea of bad foods draw you away and suddenly healthy foods sound all the more alluring.

Still definitely love chocolate and ice cream though. I should do what Boo does and post those kind of pics just to annoy people here, but my mouth would be watering for it too!
