hyperlexian, I understand why you don't understand or "get it" it if you don't have that "childlike spirit" yourself. It would somehow be strange if you did.

oh no - i understand the idea behind a childlike spirit, it's just not a particularly aspie thing as opposed to an NT thing. the female versions are often referred to as "manic pixie dream girls" in popular culture i believe.

but i don't "get" wanting to hang out with young teenage girls as a result of supposedly having such a spirit. THAT is weird, no matter how famous the person was.

Doesn't make that much of a difference - you shouldn't settle for some hooot "jailbait" :afro:

Maybe, maybe not. I don't know. Depends on what you mean. So far, the descriptions are pretty vague. I agree with hyperlexian; think long and hard about why you want those specific qualities. Good luck with your search.

I really don't feel like there's a choice. There is no other way I'll fall in love :?

Thanks a lot

I'm actually quite surprised you don't get me...

I am a goof for sure, and may act less mature than most women my age (by choice), but I've stopped being naive. I think that it's wrong if men look for naive women. I'm speaking from my own experiences here, so excuse me if I'm harsh.

I agree that one shouldn't be naive. The girl should very naturally prefer that it didn't backfire to be naive, but care too much about herself and know too well about things to actually be naive.

I haven't read the whole thread, but it seems to have taken a weird turn....

anyway, qawer, I sort of know what you're talking about with regard to your earlier question. I sort of stumbled on the answer through experience...first off, I wrote off the typical NT places...clubs, bars, fitness centers, etc. I started going to places I actually enjoyed, like Conventions...Star Wars, Star Trek, Roleplaying, etc. Or attend your local hobby shop and sign up for activities there (Magic tournies, D&D games, etc). Of course not all Aspie women are into these sorts of things, but there's a high percentage of them at these events.

When I started attending these, I definitely felt more connected. Even the NTs that attend are more open to the eccentricities of Aspies, so there's that aspect.

ahhh. qawer theres ladies i bump into in the Bristol alternative scene who I think would be just what you're looking for; I just dont think that what you described is limited to aspie girls though. as for me i often get told i lack sensitivity and warmth - i tend to gravitate to the NT geek girl with with a big heart and preferably a big lego collection.
