Yeah, because love and dating is exclusively reserved for men.

If you feel this uncontrollable urge to make up stuff, just open a dictionary. Any dictionary - politics, english, international words, anything you like.

This poll itself is highly sexist, insensitive and insulting. I demand that you refrain from posting these things or move to the PPR.

The reason I suggested it be done in the women's section is that discussion would not be properly placed in this forum and so the greatest number of women can notice it and be involved. That actual poll will probably take place in the Random Discussion section. I'm not trying to blind-side anyone, I would like well-thought presentations. And, I'm really putting the poll together.

I strongly suggest you make it in the PPR. Certainly ton women's section, because that area is reserved mostly for women and they want to feel safe and respected, at least in one subforum. Women in general will not want to be involved in such sexist matters, trust my word. If you are going to discuss feminism, there is no other place for that discussion other than in PPR. You want attention and that's fine, but I am going to write a plea to mods if that poll is going to have similar connotations as this one.

I suggest you reread and clearly understand what I wrote. I do not plan to be involved in the feminist representation discussion, I am prompting the feminists to get prepared, if they wish to. If they don't that is fine. I made the suggestion, rather than just start the discussion myself, because I have no personal interest in being involved. Again, I'm doing what most people would not do, I'm giving those of a differing opinion a chance to prepare and properly represent themselves. Again, reread what I wrote. You are responding to your misinterpretation, rather than what I wrote.

Post edit: Actually, since you think people are misinformed, being involved in the feminist presentation might give you an opportunity to persuade some. I can't imagine any true advocate as believer would turn down that perfect opportunity. If it's as easy as looking in a dictionary, the effort should be trivial. Seriously speaking, why not build a case, rally your friends to vote, and get the numbers in the poll? You will have advance notice, so you can get the early numbers. I'm actually giving you an advantage out of the gate.

If you have no interest in discussion you must refrain from making any polls like this. You don't want to be involved? So, please, don't! We could do without such mindless and pointless *polls*!

Oh wow, the hypothetical workplace sexual harassment has metastasized into actual sexual harassment in the thread...way to find that line and take a step over.

That's a good illustration of how that happens.
I did not specify what but if putting hamburgers in someones mouth is sexual harassment then the world is a asbackwards place you guys assumed something perverted wow you got more perverted minds than I do! Respectfully speaking, you are misreading what I wrote. Perhaps English is not your primary language. If you would, take time to carefully read and interpret my statements. I have no desire to disadvantage anyone based on their language capability. So, I will be patient. Please take whatever time you need and I will be glad to engage you when you are ready.

I'm not interested in participating with the feminists in preparing an argument against mine. I will prepare my support for "Yes" and the feminists can optionally supply an argument for "No." I do not intend to involve myself in preparing the argument for "No," that would not make sense. I learned along time ago that I am always best to engage in a debate based on the logic of my argument, as opposed to biased tactics. If I was trying to win on tactics, I would simply post the poll and let a disorganized flame fest begin. I like an even playing field for all. That makes the poll meaningful.

Post edit: I think I threw a lot of people off balance by trying to be sure both sides have an even chance. Debates and polls are meaningful based on the facts, logic, and presentation. Tactics and technicalities can spoil that. If I'm going to start a poll and the associated discussion, I want it to be fair and meaningful, regardless of the position I am supporting.

If shes not always serious about everything and is able to handle my humor and come up with similar humor back then yeah! If shes always uptight and offended by everything and demands me to sit down using the toilet to pee etc then no! I don't really care as long as it doesn't impede on my life or make me always uncomfortable.

Disclaimer: I don't claim to be enlightened, I'm far too young. Feminism as a movement is older than I am, and it sounds preposterous to me that certain rights have only very recently been granted to women. The very idea of feminism to me as a male born in the 80s seems like an unnecessary throwback to a bygone time. Again, apologies if that offends anyone, but I wouldn't be surprised if other men of a similar age felt the same way.

I was born on the sixth day of that hateful decade. I grew up in a female-heavy single-parent/mother family, the women of which would have balked at the idea of calling themselves 'feminist', because of the negative connotations attributed to it. Yet they were feminists in practise, and that upbringing was in itself one to make a feminist of me, exposed as I was to the clear inequities and sh***y attititudes they faced, how many men ill-treated them, simply for being female. I also had the good fortune of my grandad-as-rolemodel. Because of my nan's arthritis, it was always my grandad I saw taking care of cleaning and cooking and washing and shopping in their house. Had anyone ever cared to ask if this in some way affected his sense of masculinity, he would have given them a look somewhere between pity and disdain. All this was enough to make me a sort of 'spontaneous', 'natural' feminist, as was growing up under Thatcher enough to make me allergic to tories for life.

I didn't learn about feminism til much later, but I already was one. Same with socialism. My own understanding of feminism is within socialism.
