Wouldn't it be fantastic if it were that simple? One just asking a question and one honorable individual getting up and being ready to be of service? I wish I could claim that I am all of that, but I am truly not in the position to say anything. It is for the observer to find out

Quite a few women in this forum have said what they thought they wanted years ago when young and what they realized what they really wanted were different, so are we to assume they are lying ? Or do we accept it’s possible some people including women may not not what they want? It’s also said that until youved had relationships you can’t know what you want it don’t want(agitate told to single guys by women here in this forum)
I thought I wanted to join the military, i now realize that’s been horrible for me. Was I lying when I said I wanted it? No I just didn’t realize I didn’t actually want it.
Guys are also told they don’t really want a relationship they just want sex, whys it ok to call guys liars?
I don’t think the op was saying they lying just that they may not want what they think they want and not know it yet.
Another example I always wanted to drink untile I actually tried alcohol and realized I don’t want to drink.

British and english-speaking Canadians belong to the same mega-culture.

Nope, just a historical fact, how long the English-speaking part of Canada took independence from the British empire? Around 150 years ago only if I recall right; that's like only two human lifetimes, and the familial ties probably didn't die out quickly.
So yeah, that would cause only a very small cultural deviation on the scale of human history.
And yeah, still sarcastic bastards.

Closer to 160 years based on fiscal transitions. The first governmental Canadian currency was in 1858, when they switched from the pound to the dollar unit. I have a silver Canadian 1858 5 cent coin in my collection. They were minted in London for use in Canada. Even after all that time, Canadians still use a picture of the British Monarchy (Queen Elizabeth II) on most of their money.

Definitely sarcastic bastards and loving it. Canada has never taken independence from England. The Queen of England is also Queen of Canada. We are a constitutional monarchy. We “repatriated” our constitution in 1982, but the Queen remains our Sovereign. I think it was up until 1947 that British citizens could move to Canada and automatically became Canadian citizens. And Canadians can go back two generations to claim UK / Northern Ireland citizenship through ancestors born there.

Sly, I meant that we shouldn’t take what the women responding to the original post wrote as being untruthful. If I had answered the original question saying I like men who like to read a lot, I would want you to believe that and not think that I am making it up. In your examples you are referring to something said long ago. Like you point out, people can change their mind, or as time went on have realized that they were wrong. If I had said when I was twenty or so, that I preferred dating only men who are taller than me, I would have been telling the truth then. But as I got older and met more people I would have realized that height doesn’t make any difference to me. So I was telling the truth then and am telling the truth now, but two different answers. Just like you once honestly thought you would like being in the military. It wasn’t a lie when you used to say that. Now you know you wouldn’t like being in the military. It’s not a lie when you say that. If I was to ask who wants to be in the military and you said “I do” you would be lying. If you said, I don’t, but I used to think so you’d be telling the truth.

You were in the military?
No was suppose to be that’d it been bad for me
As in if I had been allowed to join it probably would been horrible for me. I don’t want to join the current military so what I thought I wanted back then isn’t what I wanted

What I meant and think op meant is you may say you like men who read a lot then date one and find you don’t like men who read a lot.
Like how some guys say they want a woman with high sex drive then complain cause she wants sex too much, what they thought they wanted and what they actually wanted are two things.
