Yes, missing someone terribly. Meant the world to me.

Why does it have to get more awful around the holidays?

:'(

At this point I feel as if the truth is, that I'll never hear from her again. :'(

I'm missing someone I haven't seen or spoken to since 2001 before I met my wife. Even though I'm generally happily married, I can't get her out of my head. We were "just friends" for years but I always wanted something more, and that strained the friendship until it finally ended. I still remember everything about her because she was my ideal. I feel terribly guilty just thinking about her, like I'm cheating on my wife, but it doesn't stop when I'm awake. I still dream about her regularly. I want these memories to die, but they won't. Anyone else out there with advice or is in the same boat?

I miss my nan. She raised me and died when I was 3. Not that I remember her beyond a feeling. Her passing created a hole that I have never managed to fill. And as I get older, I realize not even my own child can fill it. It sucks.

There are some people that died that I miss, like my maternal grandparents. My grandma died in 2008, and my grandpa died in 2013. If there's any type of afterlife, I hope they're together in it. My grandpa spent the last 5 years of his life wanting to die so badly so that he could go see her, so I hope he got his wish.

I miss a group of friends I had for a few years, even if they did try to kill me. I don't want them to come back, but at the same time, I do.

Then there's this girl that I consider my best friend (as my male best friend is my brother) that I'm in love with that I miss whenever she's not around, and even when she is, because she doesn't quite reciprocate my feelings (and has a boyfriend) it still feels like she's not completely there with me.

I feel for you. My situation in 1999-2001 was much the same. Even though I haven't seen this woman since 2001 and I've been married to someone else since 2002, the feelings just won't die. I'm glad I have my family and my faith; I don't know what I would do otherwise.
