Of course, the prospect of being along for decades doesn’t seem nice, either. I’m damned if I do, damned if I don’t.

If my current relationship stops, I won’t seek for another. No more energy.

I am too old for that now.

It would be… https://m.youtube.com/watch?time_contin ... =emb_title

My girlfriend came back from her country this week, I missed her and all but while she was away for almost 2 months I realized that my weekends were so…. blissful and peaceful, no worries of planning anything. And got used to it.

And this is bad I know, I am rethinking of everything.

^ Hmmm… Do you guys fight a lot? She sounds like a social butterfly. If you ever are single again and get tired of it after 3 months or so, you could look for someone who is less social and who you have more in common with.

41 is not old.

It was peaceful when my husband went to rehab or jail, but that’s not quite the same thing.

I don't miss the days when he would come home from rehab and go straight to the bar on the same day. He went to rehab for various reasons, but it was never because he was serious about sobriety.

I love her but not attached, I don’t get this attachement emotion.

Uncertain if being in a relationship (as a whole, not that person in particular) is something I want for life.

For the record, I have always suspected of being Schizoid for ages besides asperger. Her away time+ her return has re-switched something existing in me.

Historically, I’d say there’s no question of that.

In all seriousness, have you ever experienced romantic attachment before?

Do you experience attachment towards other people?

Not really.

Her culture is also super social which doesn’t help, the Filipino culture is probably one of the most “introvert unfriendly” in the world.

For example, do you know that they usually throw big birthday EVEY year?
It is something we do in my culture for kids only: you know inviting a lot of people and making a feast and not necessarily every year too. But once we are adults we refrain of doing big birthday parties, if any.

But in the Filipino community they keep at it even if the person is a grand parent already.
Their birthdays often consists of 20+ persons, a large feast, karaoke and games, big birthday seems to be a big thing in their culture.

And since everyone there wants to do a big party on their birthdays, the result? a big birthday party to attend almost on every weekend.

It is maybe something fun to observe how another culture celebrates their birthday for the first few times, but beyond the 10th time it becomes torture.

I swear I have attended more birthdays with her than in my entire lifetime before I met her.
