hi my names rebecca and I am 16 years old. I was diagnosed with aspergers when i was 10 but didnt know until aged 12. it was a relief when i found out. i was diagnosed with dyspraxia when i was really little. Anyway i enjoy writing stories i started enjoying writing them at aged 8 and i have written lots of stories since. i also enjoy shopping because i get such a buzz when i buy something! I used to be bullied it started when i was 12 and went on till i was nearly 15 when the bullies got expelled. In this year i have grown a lot in confidence. Before i really lacked in confidence and self esteem but now i am getting better. Also at junior school i had lots of friends but when i started senior school it was all different. I have finally started to make some friends at this school. I did make a friend in Year 7 but then she started to bully me. Your probably bored i am rambling on a bit. So yeah this is the first site i am come accross that i can talk to other people who have aspergers. it is a usefull informative interesting site as well. i am glad i found it while surfing the web.
sorry for rambling on.
Much love xx

Hmm, where to begin?

My name is Jeremy. I am diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome, obviously. I am nineteen years old, and I live in PA. I absolutely hate Schuylkill County, because it is where fun and culture come to die. I enjoy playing Guild Wars, and I am an officer in Dark Angel From the Underworld [evil], which is in the [Howl] alliance. I would really like to meet people who are just like me. I enjoy playing computer games, PS2, Wii, and hanging out with my friends. Guild Wars FTW! My in-game name is Jeremy Shadowstorm.

Much more to come.....

Wichita County, Texas (where I live) sounds a lot like Schuylkill County.

G'Day. I am The_Q, but Q will do nicely.

I thought it might be better to introduce myself here rather than start a new thread. I've been lurking around this discussion board for a bit over a month and I'm quite impressed with what I've seen of the community here so far. It's good to read posts from people who aren't so different to myself. There are so many places and times where I feel the need to put on an act. Here, I don't have to.

If the G'Day didn't give myself away, I'm from Australia. I was diagnosed with Asperger's when I was twelve, but I've known that there was something different about me since not long after I started school. I have quite a few Aspie traits, but, I've learned to cover them in order to hide amongst NT's - if only for a short time. As many of you can probably identify with, I often come home to my sanctuary feeling mentally exhausted.

As in my profile, my main interests are, science, Sci-fi (especially Star Trek), chess, and music. I'm also quite interested in computers and Asperger's, but they merge with my interest in science. My interest in music is fairly diverse. I don't play any instruments, but I'm very much into classical (e.g. Wagner) and Rock/heavy metal. I'm always trying broaden my tastes, however I don't want much to do with pop, rap and country.

I've just finished high school and now I'm looking forward to tackling university. I hope to make a good contribution to this forum.

Cheers,
Q

I'm Cheezbob325. I'm currently in High School. I like drawing, video games, and anime. I don't have many friends, but the ones I have are good ones. I'm currently single, much to my displeasure. I was diagnosed with Asperger's at age 6, but I wasn't told until age 10. Overall I'm happy at the moment, and hopefully it'll be like that for awhile.

Hi, I'm Ben.

I'm brand new to the group. I live in Las Vegas, thus the 'LV' in LVBen. My mom says that I have Asperger's Syndrome, and she is probably right but I don't really know for sure. I know my brain works quite a bit differently than most people in social situations, and I am very different than most people when it comes to emotions, but I don't have many of the other characteristics of AS. Until now, I've never even told anyone that I have a social disorder. I do my best to fit in, but people tend to dislike me for many different reasons, oftentimes ones that contradict other peoples' reasons, but I know the real underlying reason, and I'm always trying to get better at fitting in. I guess people can label me however they want, but I won't let it effect me, and I'll go on living my happy life. I just turned 27. I'm an atheist. I work as a software engineer for a big corporation. I'm single and I've probably been on about 10 first dates in the last year. That's it for now. I've got lots of interesting stories, but you have to figure out how to get them out of me. :-)
