What's missing here (and especially in Fnords list) is that women are individuals, and just because you can create a list of things they are attracted to in a man doesn't mean these are things that all women find attractive. It's not that we don't believe that some women have these preferences, I'm sure those that claimed it are like that. The problem is that just because one woman claimed it was attractive doesn't mean another would see it in the same way. I'm almost shocked that no feminist has pointed this out, and instead are fighting for the validity of the list.

And the men that dated NT woman, of course, are right that many of these women want a man with status, a job & good income, and when some men claim they have no chance with these types of women because they are unemployed or similar, they are largely right.

Obvious and common knowledge.

That was neither stated nor implied.

The list is valid, even if some people assume that (a) it's all or nothing; (b) everything applies to all women equally; and/or (c) the list is complete.

Well, whose fault is that? The women who don't want to marry into poverty, or the men who cannot or will not do anything to improve themselves? The men, of course.

I don't think any of that is obvious given the content of the discussion. You also didn't present it as "traits that some women find attractive" rather as "traits women find attractive". I hope you can see the difference.

It's nobody's fault. It's an incompatibility issue, but if you believe the list is the truth about women, then you would claim it's the fault of men and that they need to improve in those areas so women would select them.

I believe that the list expresses the truth about women in general and to a greater or lesser degree. The alternative would imply that women only need to troll Skid Row for eligible men to marry, and that just ain't gonna happen!

I also believe that it's the fault of men if they are not attractive to women, AND that they need to improve in those areas so women would be attracted to them.

Deal with it.

While humans are intelligent beings set apart in that regard from other species, I think of how in so many other animal species males fall over each other so obviously that it can even be comical to us in vying for the attention of potential female mates. Many of the brightly colored male birds that do elaborate dances, singing, etc come to mind. That's how it is.

There are some similarities in human courtship as well. While it could be said that a man and a woman choose each other as a mate, ultimately it's the woman that chooses to mate.

That doesn't bother me. That's biology. I know it does bother some men though since I know there is an attitude among some men something like: "I shouldn't have to be the one that bends over backwards trying to attract a woman. The effort should either be equal or, why not the woman bend over backwards to pursue me?" If a man has that kind of attitude, it's just not realistic.

Lol. There's no bunch of men dancing round trying to attract me or most of the single women I know.

Let me just double check.

Ah yes... tumbleweed.

Once in a blue moon I do see someone trying to get my attention, but when I do give my attention to them they recoil, "aw f**k no, I didn't think she'd actually bite" and they dissolve like a mirage.

:D The similarities I speak of in regard to humans vs. animals could be toned down to the fact that in general, males have to approach females in the hope of the female being interested in them rather than the other way around.

While it is extremely rare to see a man dancing like a loon, it is common to observe men adjusting their voices to be deeper and louder, to stand straighter, to puff out their chests more, and to generally strike "masculine" poses when women are around. Once you know what to look for, it is comical to watch men posing and posturing in the front office when the new secretaries start their first days, and most seem to be completely unaware that they are doing it!

I gave that up long, long ago ... there's too much gut to make sucking it in noticeable!

Oh look, there's your oh-so-helpful "Get up, stand up, grow up, and take charge of your life" thing I was misinterpreting. Oh wait, no it's not, because that's a complete lie and you know it. I hope you have a charming day spreading your helpfulness to all the smart little boys and girls who so desperately need it.

If you need a helping hand, look at the ends of your arms. There you will find TWO helping hands, just waiting to make your life better!
