I wouldn't date someone more than 10 years younger.

The biggest age difference I've had was a man 14 years older. Age didn't stand out as a problem because we're both ND and he has a brain injury too. He acted a lot younger than he was and he wasn't into talking about social things. We mostly talked about Music or our pets. In a normal situation though, I can't see myself with a much-older or much-younger NT partner. Much younger would be a disaster because I do appreciate people with life experience. Much older? Nope. I'm not into wanting to nurse some man through his inevitable health concerns or watch him die. Beyond that I think I'd feel patronised since I tend to feel younger than I am on the inside. I wouldn't want to feel like he's clutching at my exuberance or youth as any part of the attraction.
I know a case of a 28/29 year-old Aspie guy dating an 18 year old girl & the girl took charge in their relationship. The Aspie liked not having to guess about what to do(I would really like that as well). The girl lived with her older brother & the Aspie worked with her brother for a bit & the two guys became best friends. I was online friends with the brother. The Aspie lived with his dad who was an abusive alcoholic so he spent a bit of time hanging out with the brother at the brothers place since he disliked being home. The sister was around & the Aspie & her shared a weird common interest that they talked about & she eventually made a direct move on him. She asked for him to move in when she graduated high-school because he had lost his job & his dad blamed him & got more abusive. Her brother was worried about his friend so they asked him to me in. The Aspie sounded sweet & was wrapped around her finger so to speak.

As you guys know my previous two relationships had big age gaps. That said, I'm not going to criticise others for having their own various preferences if they don't criticise mine unless the person complains alot about being single while having very extreme requirements for a partner or their preferences are based on ill intentions.

People are allowed to criticise large age gap relationships here, and I'm choosing to be offended because it seems to be the trend these days to be offended.

Something that’s a red flag for me might be a green flag for someone who wants something different.

We are all entitled to have our own personal preferences when it comes to red flags. For some, these preferences are rooted in personal experience. You are free to have a different stance.

Buck the trend, and be ultimately who you want to be.

Pretending that 'controlling' or restricting the movements of another is "love."

i.e. I don't want you hanging out with so-in-so because I just love you so much.
You can't do X
You can't go X

I lived with that for 11 years, met him when I was very young and thought, "Wow, if he thinks about what I'm up to THAT much, it MUST be love!" I was so lucky that I didn't wind up in prison, because by the time I finally got out of that relationship I truly hated him. I've never felt that same level of anger towards another individual since. We share two grown children, occasionally I still have to see him. The anger has evolved to revulsion, but it's still incredibly difficult not to tell him how stupid he is and looks every time.

In that case, your ID name is quite appropriate.

1. Bigotry of any kind
2. Thoughtlessness
3. Dishonesty
4. Disliking animals (disliking people is fine)
5. Inability to appreciate art, music or anything beyond manufactured mainstream culture
