I know that they are needed at certain times but whenever I think I dont need one which is 99% of the time I´ll tell the other person that I appreciate their effort but its not needed which can hurt other people.
I hate when pep-talks end up changing to why you or your life sucks talks...meh.

-Have been an spoiled brat for 14 years of my life and have been trying to hard to pretend Im just an average person the last couple of years(If I cant accept myself as I am no one else will, Im aware of that but I still need some time to accept the being forced to play golf/do poshy things since I was 6 and being bullied at school because of this) which has had its up and its downs. Everything is fine until somebody asks for where I live/I get out my visa gold then they start asking questions about my background and i begin to worry about the just being around me for monetary reasons.
This is what inspired me to remark on your post:
My dad is a doctor, yet I don't fit into the stereotypical doctor's kid role.
We live in a big-ish house, but nothing extraordinary, and it isn't furnished nicely.
We have cars, but they aren't your typical "nice" cars.
I could go on and on.
I am not used to living posh, that being said, I am used to having the type of food I need.
Apparently I have an expensive taste because a bowl of soup can run a couple of dollars-homemade.
But both my parents grew up poor, so I have no idea if that is expensive or not.
I am always scared to say my dad is a doctor because that implies wealth when really, I have no clue if he is rich or not. My mom's a saver, and pretty much enforces that on my dad.
Ok, done with extraordinarily long rant.

Don't drink coffee then.
