That's OK, I don't need any updates about you pretending to be gay to somehow get a woman to marry you. Good luck, though!

If you were to marry me and stay loyal, even you meems, but you aren't that type anyways, nor are you my type. I am sad now.

You and meems would be a phenomenal funny couple.

By my Boo-ish authority, I now pronounce you wife and husband. You may... pretend to be gay now.

Meems, for Boo, or anybody else, to be chivalrous to you means you will have to pretend you are a lady.

Good luck. It sounds as if you need it.

You make that sound like a bad thing; it isn't.[/quote

I'm glad you said you said that and not me.

Said what? That not being a "lady" isn't a bad thing? I really don't see how conforming to societal pressures based on gender, to please others, somehow translates to a positive label in your mind.

I mean you already effectively said I'm not a "lady", so I'm assuming it's not that.

Most women--and any woman I'd have--consider it a compliment to be thought of as ladies. It's obvious you don't, and you are to be pitied.

The story goes thus:

--Boy meets girl

--Boy wins girl's heart by showing affection tempered with respect and a sense of fairness

--They live happily ever after.

As for the moral: This is the way it has worked since the Middle Ages. This is the way it will continue to work. And there is nothing you can do about it; you might as well fight the wind.

Sounds a lot like the samurai and their swords.

Or the Neanderthals and their flint? Take your pick

Apple, while both songs are good, in the McGraw video, according to chivalry, the gentleman wouldn't beg, but would fearlessly sacrifice his life for his own honor, or the honor of a lady. Begging for anything, especially from one's inferior, would be unseemly to say the least.

As far as the Rogers video goes, chivalry dictates that the gentleman be indulgent toward his inferiors, but that he defend his own honor, and the honor of a lady, from his equals and superiors. This one is definitely about chivalry. One doesn't fight with one's inferiors unless absolutely necessary.

One thing to keep in mind is that the Robert Earl Keen song I posted isn't country music, which is centered around Nashville, and has largely been co-opted by liberals because it is so commercially lucrative. Red Dirt Music centers around Austin, is much less commercialized, and more closely expresses traditional values.

Chivalry is a lot like libraries in the internet age.

Misslizard, I agree. But libraries have never had a place for the invincibly ignorant.
