I currently have dark brown shoulder length hair and already I know that I have limited its length completely. Wish it was thick enough to get longer by a few inches too. :(

I've had some luck using a product called "big sexy hair" - mebbe try it? comes in a red cylindrical bottle.

Never heard of it. Moreover, I hate having short hair so a more long lasting solution is obviously necessary given my circumstances.

your mileage may vary of course but for me it almost totally detangled it in ordinary brushing [used to be a mass of tangles] and made it appear and feel thicker. it seems to be a lasting solution for me, at least, god-willing.
