Back in the 70's it was far more prevalent because all you were really showing was a patch of hair, now with grooming standards having shifted to removal of hair they are less likely to be seen at all.
One of the most recent examples I can think of is probably Scary Movie.. which featured a penis as well as a vagina in different parts of the movie, both used for comedic props.
The fact you used the word 'Thingy' however is a whole other kettle of fish.
I was gonna say pretty much the same.
Sure, there are loads of boobs in movies but plenty of bare male chests too. The issue there is that women's chests are more sexualized than men's, not that they're shown more often.
And the genitals of both genders are very rarely shown, though I'd say exposed penises are probably
more common in mainstream media than exposed vulvas.
