I heard that the hunters always have to send in the meat to be checked, that there is often trichinella in boar meat...

Too bad that you can't just explain to the boars that you have no interest in eating them, so they should leave you alone

Get a rifle, one boar should be worth quite a bit of money

To prevent disease, cook them the way Russians do. With a flamethrower:

i know back east they do lots of hunts and give the meat to homeless shelters. its unfortunate they have to die but atleast meat goes to a good cause. well unfortunately animals have to die so we can eat, just think its important to do so a painlessly as possible and be respectful of the animal.

In the Americas they are also not native animals, they are introduced by humans.
In a way these wild boars may have a better life than the pigs kept by humans, pigs are smart animals and they get bored when holed up in pig pens. At least the wild animals get to behave like an animal, they dig up food with their snouts when foraging. Seem much smarter than cows and horses.

No, I think that just because we can be bothered by certain animals doesn't mean that we have the right to kill them. I'll just be careful when I walk in the forest , and make sure there are trees that I can climb up in.

Man you have no idea what you are missing out, shrimps and octopus are yummy!!

I don't eat lobsters tho for ethical reasons because they always boil them alive. I've heard that some chefs do the same for crabs but I am not sure.

Ewwll, I just googled "octopus food" and what's on the plate looks like a cross between the Alien movies and a Call of Cthulhu monster 8O

Talking about pigs and food, here's some food pics I took in Czech Republic.

This pig meat was quite good , one of the best I've ever tasted.

And there's their famous bread soupe.

You'll love that trollcat, potato and sausages in same pic!!

I think this was goose if I recall right.

And this is some sweetened bread they make, tastes very much like Brioche:

And finally we've invited our european partners to a lebanese restaurant there, look at all this green stuff, so opposite of Czech cuisine  :

This isn't milk.

My bf loves sweet things and cakes, so when he started his job in Sweden he was happy when the said that they were going to have tårta (cake). What he didn't realize was that in Sweden people eat smörgåstårta which looks like this, and he HATES shrimps. Culture shock.

He got:

^^^ Is that ouzo or raki? The anise liquor that turns white when you add water?

The mashes potatoes and sausages pic looks sooo familiar. :D

That bread soup looks like a bread and then they poured in some pea soup. We have pea soup, often with bread but not as this combination. Here's a pic of pea soup with rye bread and bacon on the left. We finally got this thread back to sausaged, food and goo.

Ah, raki is the Turkish name for it and ouzo the Greek one. I see guys there with wine + arak, I knew the Czechs had a reputation for heavy drinking. :D
Also, is it just me or do the Lebanese eat a lot? That table full of Lebanese food could feed the entire town. That's what you get for eating green veggies, they contain too little calories to be considered as food. Best eat BIG SAUSAGE WITH POTATO GOO.

Not with the goo again. :eew:

These small dishes are called Meze , they are appetizers but so often we make a whole feast of Meze only.

And you're right, they are often many but light stuff.

This an example of a whole feast of Meze

This an example of a breakfast meze or simply appetizers before main meal:

On the other hand, sometimes Meze has RAW LAMB MEAT like this one.

These red stuff in the middle are raw lamb liver
