I have given up. I'll try again if I see a particular opportunity or if I start to care again. For now I don't. It's too stressful, and that stress shows to the point where it ruins any chance I would have anyway.

At least trying might get you somewhere. Giving up definitely won't. You have to admit that, no matter how pessimistic you are.

Sometimes looking for someone else can prevent you seeing the problems in yourself that are the root of the problem.
