Possible? Of course. Almost everything is possible. Some things are just very hard. For example, just because we haven't been able to do alchemy yet, it doesn't mean it is impossible. Sometimes, you have to try all the doors to know if a house is locked.
But what if the house is so huge that it takes a lifetime even to check the first floor? I agree that statistically many things that seem impossible really aren't. We human beings, however, have finite lifespans (and relatively limited ones in addition), so most of us won't have the time to try every possible thing.
You do make a good point, but I have an answer to this one.
"A lifetime" is actually relative. Some die while they are babies, some live to be more than 100. Use a less relative example. Also, how can there be doors on the second floor?

almost everything is possible. An example: God is capable of doing anything and everything. But he still can't make a brick so heavy he can't lift it, because he has the power to do anything, including carrying infinite weight. Some things are simply impossible.
A good quote here is "Innocent until proven guilty".
EDIT: The door thing was a metaphor (and I forgot how to spell it, did I get it right?)
Another metaphor (again, spelling help?) is "There are more than one way to skin a cat".
Those lines are not meant to be taken literally. Why would anyone want to skin a cat?
