I like the semi-athletic look, a nice taken-care-of body. Then of course she has to be able to talk reasonably intelligently and have some interests of her own.

someone who likes discussions on politics, religion, history and science. people with strong opinions who can argue their corner.

but saying that my last boyfriend was not like that at all and was a vulnerable, gentle, 'boyish' lover and that was also nice, I could play Oscar Wilde to his Bosey.

I think actually most of it is to do with a certain look someone gives, the way they smile at you, undefinable but what actually happens.

One huge thing that turns me on is a man's ability to remember the little things. If I mention something in passing that I like, he then brings it up again. He refers back to things I have said that weren't that important. Knowing that he listens to me and remembers things I say and enjoy is a HUGE turn on.

Is there someone like you, but younger?

 I suppose its possible. But I can tell you-- I think women get better with age. An appreciation for the little things generally comes with age and life experience.

Or religious beliefs.

If we have different beliefs they will just accept that they won't be part of my life in terms of spiritual issues, or me theirs. I would prefer someone who isn't closed minded in terms of religion, thats all.

I have pretty strong spiritual beliefs and can't see my self being attracted to a Christian to begin with for a long term relationship.. if I really like a guy though, and he turns out to be Christian, that wouldn't matter.

Who's that on your avatar?

Peter Williams, a NZ News reader and reporter.

I thought it was David Letterman at first.

Williams appears to be a popular news anchor name--we have Brian Williams over at NBC.

hmmmmmmmmmm (in no particular order)
a nice voice (feminine but not screachy or pitchy)
a vocabulary that doesn't make you sound like a dude(as in a speaker of dudespeak, not a guy)
somewhat wild hair that doesn't look dirty (a shag of sorts usually).
a measured intelligence
a relatively upbeat attitude
darker or died hair.
in terms of particular body type I don't really have strong preferences as long as they seem energetic, like I don't get the feeling they'd be happier if they took better care of themselves, you know?
A heart shaped face

Edit:scrolled up and saw a good one.
Individualist.

Yeah, your excuse will be "she made me do it!", right?
(given how my mother drives me nuts sometimes, I hope something like that doesn't happen to me...)

You wouldn't believe the memory I have for that sort of stuff, I keep contacting people whenever I see something I remember they like...
And I agree, knowing that someone actually listens to you and pays attention to what you say is definitely a turn on... that's one of the reasons why I miss so much someone right now. The problem is she left before having a chance to establish a relationship... and I have no contact information from her. And I don't want to become a stalker.

I like a woman who has her own ideas, can think for herself, and not just towing the line. Dappy either real or put on is not my thing.

I don't get easily turned on. I’m not one notice people in the street, etc. It is more like a gentle warming.

Appearance wise, I seem to like women with short hair but still feminine (look not necessarily style). I’m not sure why. I wouldn’t consider it an exclusive preference though. I prefer natural or minimal makeup. I don't really find the pinup look appealing at all, often it is repulsive. Terribly cliché to say this, I am attracted to interesting features. If you are still on side, that means forms, and cross sections that are not so typical but beautiful to me. I don’t like the “uncanny valley” effect, so overly symmetrical is not my thing.
