I'm the opposite... I never got along with high school aged kids. I have always gotten on better with people who were older than me. I didn't often talk about my age and in many cases people who asked and were told flat out refused to believe I was not older than I really was. With a few exceptions, a lot of the people I knew who were my 'real age' the last 20 years or so I found pretty childish. But the older I get the more I think a lot of people are childish regardless of their age.

I'm not going to claim emotional maturity myself, per se, though, and I will say that 27 has been a year where I finally feel like my "internal age' matches my "mental age" for the first time in a long time. I kind of attributed it to having a kid, though :D, so I dunno if it's a magic number.
