to some of my repliers: i wasn't trying to sound arrogant or judgmental. i'm sorry if something i said was offensive.

Theres your answer then. She has no class and thats why she does it. You can't buy class. Whats the good job just out of interest?

i really have no idea, but i see girls like that at the tavern when i go there to eat.
i have watched some of them to try to see who they are.
i think they want to have fun and they are not interested in "deep and meaningful" stuff when they go out to bars.

it is like a holiday from their usual lives where they may be employed in a serious and reserved fashion, and when they go out to have a good time, they like to keep it light and breezy and physical because it is easy to be relaxed when they are not required to mentally stress about things.

it is like "dancing" in a way. i never understood why people like to dance, but i can see that they enjoy the release, and they may suppress their serious side so they do not invite intense people who wish to get deep.

i do not judge a girl who gets dressed in what she likes to dress in at the times she is able to dress that way.

i do not think someone is stupid if they are not saying things that show their intelligence.

i think they are just "kicking out their heels" and getting a release from their otherwise disciplined lives.

but i am no judge.

of all the girls that i see at the tavern, the ones that seem silly (to a bitter observer) and who are dressed skantily are the friendliest to me.
i am not forced to think hard like i am when i am programming or talking to executives, and i also like it that we can have a simple time.

all work and no play makes for a tired life.

i feel silly responding to this because i can not appraise what i just wrote in terms of social appropriateness.

That's nothing, anyway, the current trend for guys around here is to walk around with their trousers pulled down below their asses so you can see their underwear... And no, I'm not joking either

I do agree that, when they act stupid, that's very annoying. It's probably the same as the fashion thing, they're conforming to social norms, but it's still extremely annoying, and I can't stand girls who act stupid.

If you gays and gals want my view, then I think that it's due to the fact that we men (no matter our brain power) like girls to be girly and fun!

Although I do have a girlfriend who like to dress farly fasionbuly and act 'cute' (cos she is!) She does also have a ,mind of her own. As some of the others have said it's just a style and really it does not matter how you choose to dress or act as it's your bisniess (even if it's to be a bimbo!) really I must agree that I much prefer to have a girl who I can talk to on an equal level (as like to think that I'm intellgent) I still like a girl who likes to have fun as well. Happily the love of my life who as it happens also has AS feels the same way.

However who's to say what is intelligentes? I mean if you were able to get a degee in being a bimbo than we'd have a load of blond bickni clad profersers knocking their boobs about!

Yes many bimbos are indeed sadly spoiled brats, but some other so called 'bimbos' are just girls who as they weren't very good at their school work, and thus they have to act dumb in order to eat!

Really it does not matter want you do with your life just so long as you don't go about being a hoigen (as that is what some of those girls do.) Becouse everyone is suited to different things in life, and if a girl choose's to be a bimbo (and has the loving friends family and that all inportent boyfriend with the cash to provede for her) then let her go ahead and live that way! I'm quite sure that sults and bimbos have all long ago realsed that they will never be the sharpest knifes in the draw but they are happy living that way in spite of all of our attempts to drive them into the dirt! (Which let's face it is what many of us do)

Even if my girlfriend desied to be a bimbo (as quite often girls change themselves to suit themselves or others) I'd still love her to bits as I don't mind bimbos all that much.

I hope that you all understand although they aren't the only kind of girl that I have a taste for, they do still need someone to stick up for them as they are still just as human as you or I. Even though I have fallen for a doting homemaker (she's yet to move in with me but she looks after her mum a lot so chances are that she'll want to continue to do that if and when we start living together) She does cleirly like the more refined aspects of life too

However sometimes she does have a habit of begging me to take her in my red Ferrari while I play 'Magical Sound Shower' at full blast as I go joy riding!! !! !
But then she does look nice in her pink bikni (not to menchen the fact she always kissing me and talking about love and shopping)

Most males tend to want to be the dominate partner in a relationship. It's hard to dominate someone you know is smarter then you (unless you do it physicly).

Therefore most females have decided that "playing dumb" is the best way to acheive mating success.

No, not really. I think that's true. Most men are attracted to women who are less intelligent than them.

As far as the OP goes. I think it depends on where you go because in the last 2 years I've seen a few "whores" you probably wouldn't have pick up on just by looking at their general dress and appearance. On the same token depending on where you are the "normal" girl's costume is going to change. If you don't like how the girls look, try a different venue.

Women often act less intelligent than they are because men don't like to date or marry women smarter than them. It's unfortunate, but generally true. So by dumbing herself down, a woman can make herself a prospect for a larger group of men.

So acting "dumb" is "smart".

Good that you aren't a male, otherwise you would be showered by attacks from the females here thinking that you are misogynist.

From evolutionary perspective , females seek males who can be good providers (genetic and wealth wise) while males seek for fertile females, good fertility can be estimated by the looks : Round ass, big boobs , curves ....are all signs of good fertility that attract men, women know that very well. High heel make the ass look higher and rounder , skirts show more curves...

[Off-topic: Besides, women always seek for men who are better than themselves : Stronger , wealthier , smarter , older , taller .....etc. That's why they have to try hard to get a man who is better than themselves.

I wonder what do you mean by "girls act stupid and dress like prostitutes " , you don't know their school grades and what was considered a "prostitute" fashion 10 years ago is just now the mainstream fashion : High stilettos, mini skirts, tight spandex , glossy lips ..... etc

Things change ....so adapt to the change.

It's never even crossed my mind to act less intelligent to attract a guy - I've always been my true polyglot, number loving, book addicted self and never had a problem. I also have never known a woman to dumb herself down for a man. Why would any woman worth her salt want a man who was so insecure he needed his mate to act like she only had half a mind?

When I was in graduate school I did a survey of women in comics (comic books) and investigated how they were treated with regard to their dress. It turned out that female characters who wore pants were almost invariably more respected and more intelligent than ones who wore skirts and showed excessive cleavage. The women in skirts were frequently told what to do, held back from participating in confrontational activities, protected, and generally, their ideas were questioned or dismantled by women wearing pants or men. In the event they did wear skirts but were involved in confrontation, their dialogue usually reflected rather traditional views of women. The women in pants were closer to equal with their male counterparts and suffered fewer restrictions on their intellect and activities. The survey included independent as well as mainstream comics, some of which had actually been intended to attract female readers. I found only one character who did not conform to the stereotype.

Acting less intelligent and wearing skimpy clothes aren't the same thing.

When it comes to the latter, I agree with the others who say that it's just fashion. low self esteem or a combination of both. Also, for a lot of women it's fun. Most don't dress like that during the day; they wear suits and office clothes or normal stuff, it's just on a night out, they like to doll up and wear sparkles and have guys think they're hot etc etc... for most it's an occasional thing and doesn't reflect either their intelligence or morals.

I don't dress up like most girls, even on a night out I prefer jeans and flat shoes and I hate the smell of make-up, but I don't judge those that do like dressing up, and have no time for those that do. It reeks of bitterness. Whoever wrote that comment about all girls who dress like that being from poor, single-parent families couldn't be more wrong. Some may have backgrounds like that, but most of the ones I've met are middleclass, college educated with good day jobs.

As for acting 'less intelligent' around guys. I do find that slightly inexplicable, except that it could simply be down to the idea that giggling and acting vulnerable are percieved as feminine and attractive by most guys, and women who are strident and argumentive can be a bit obnoxious. Most guys also seem to act less intelligently around girls too, just more in a brash, crude way. Don't forget the effects of alcohol as well.

Basically, my point is that you can't really determine someone's intelligence or morals from what they wear on a night out. You can try, but you'd be ruling out quite a lot of decent people.
