I don't think they're going to understand what you mean even if you hit them in the face with a frying pan.
They seem to be taking the celeb pics literally.
I get it. The celebrities are collections of symbols that represent the ideas in your heads.
I couldn't do that, but fair enough if it works for you. The problem with using a person as a symbol is that they also symbolise themselves, so that can be confusing.
How about drawing pictures of the people in your minds? That might be interesting.
How about going in a slightly different direction? Rather than the celebrity and how they look, which fictional characters that the celebrity plays are we attracted to (independent of the actor/actress who plays them). When I was much younger, I was attracted to Superman. I mistook this for an attraction to Christopher Reeve and saw him in another movie. Nothing happened. So it was Superman and not the actor who played him that was attractive. It happened again when Lord of the Rings came out and I was attracted to Aragorn. So I decided to see a different movie Viggo Mortenson (who played Aragorn) was in and was repulsed. (It was G.I. Jane where he plays a repulsive person.) What do Superman and Aragorn have in common? They are absolutely alpha males in their respective stories but mainly heroic and world saving. So that's what I like. The heroism combined with the alpha-ness. (To be consistent I guess I should have married a fireman but I didn't.)
So what fictional characters are others attracted to, independent of the actor/actress who played them?
