This reminds me, I had experienced a church where they give free lessons on something they called "Tap Dancing" or is it "Step Dancing". The people are to dance "1-2-3-4" "1-2-3-4", following the music. It looked easy, but when I practice, I seemed to find it difficult to remember the steps. After just 2 days of trying, I gave up.

I'm going to a dance with my Girlfriend and our friends. I'm no expert at it, but I'll bust a move here and there. Theirs no shame in dancing like crazy cause a lot of people will be dancing and will be too busy focusing on their dates to even care if you're dancing like a chicken. Unless you break dance, you're are bound to attract a lot of people. I know my one friend did that, but I won't try it. I don't know that many Aspies who can break dance anyway.

me + dancing = a curious relationship

I love dancing and i hate to be watched whilst doing it. Normally if i'm out dancing at a rave or something i'm pretty intoxicated but even then i cant lose the feeling of self conciousness. I'd love to just be able to not give a f**k what people think of me.

I disagree. There are social skills and appropriate behavior involved in dancing, but it all boils down to dance etiquette, and it's generally the same whether you're doing classic/ballroom dances or modern club dances. Some of the rules are: don't get too close to the woman unless you know her well (or you're both drunk and she likes you, lol), a.k.a. half-arm's length rule; don't try to lead your partner through a move they don't know; and women, don't try to take over the lead unless a dance move requires it. Obviously, these rules would apply differently (or some, not at all) in night clubs, but they give a base to work off of when approaching girls in those places.

Really? The sort of dancing I like to do there aren't usually rules. Everyone is just there to go crazy and have a good time. Obviously the obvious stuff like don't feel some stranger up, like you wouldn't if you met them on the street.

I used to dance when I was younger, but then I mean more the sort of "free style dancing" you do at the dancing floor when you go out at friday nights. Sometimes I got a bit a bit to crazy, I guess, like when they played "Smells like teen spirit" by Nirvana, then I almost run into people...

This Aspie doesn't. I don't get anything out of it and feel especially awkward when I try to do it, so I've just stopped trying altogether.

I love dancing and studied it formally for a long time. I find dancing to popular music to be a little odd, but if the dj's good it can be a lot of fun.

Yeah. Everything from glowsticks to couples dancing I'm up for. Choreographed though typically seems to be the wrong kind of music IMO, if I ever hear a tune that inspires me to try it though I might give it a whirl.

yes I dance, mostly choreographed dancing tho. I was in ballet since I was 5, my dance skills havent ever been that good tho. It was only in the recent years, I started dancing for fun like at dances or parties or whatever. Thats pretty good. I dont really care to be at dances or parties for anything else but dancing. I know at a lotta college dances, people try to dance with each other which leads to "hookups" and so and so, ehh not my thing.

I'll be able to do that someday.
