Oddly enough, the clowns on Tripping The Rift don't bother me.

Just don't give me a boe boe doll.

I dont want the usual bad things ie: a cheater and so.

I dont want someone I have nothing in common with.

Other than that I´d give any girl a chance.

As an aside I´m pretty sure that calling someone a troll on a thread is against the site rules so I´d suggest you stop doing it before anyone brings in the mods.(Another member that was considered helpfull by many of us had a similar situation not long before she stopped posting and even though she claims both events are unrelated I believe there´s some connection between them and I think most of wefunction posts have been helpfull to other posters.)

If you have any issue with another user you can contact any of the mods/try to sort things out by pm but doing it on a thread is against the rules.

Everything else is negotiable... :)

Every woman...and man, for that matter, has a list whether they realize it or not.

I have a list of preferences, but not a list of "I will not date ___"

Agreed, everyone has their preferences, but my list is more of a general guideline and subject to revision on a case-by-case basis.

I can't see myself ever saying "I would never date ... [fill in the blank]"

How could you know? Everyone is different...people aren't just commodities that you can order to specification - excluding people based on some arbitrary characteristic is doing yourself a great disservice in my view.

Here's my list. Are you ready?

"I will not date a smoker."

Everything else, like Grisha said, is case-by-case. That's what makes people people!! !

Ah, smoking is a good one. Many people have very strong preferences either way.

That's a very sensible item for a lot of reasons.

I would prefer a non-smoker, but it wouldn't be a deal-breaker for me...

I'm lucky to have outgrown or mitigated most of my sensory issues, but that one remains, alas...

Actually, I've not outgrown this one either - when I was younger it was believed that girls who smoked were often quite "friendly", so when you saw one light up it was percieved as a very encouraging omen...

I think I've been conditioned in sort of a Pavlovian way in this regard...

One that doesnt want me.

Everything else has some room for negotiation depending on the variables.

But what if she was hot?

But they all are, aren't they? Well, most of them anyway. She's a woman, so of course she's going to be good looking if she puts any effort at all into taking care of herself. However, a very big part of the overall relationship barrier involves the requirement that I have to like her and think highly of her, and that's not going to happen if money is her main relationship motivator, no matter how hot she is.

Smoking is another no-no for me. I grew up around smokers and it made me sick. I had problems with allergies and asthma which were probably made worse by being around the smoke. When I was a kid other students in school would make fun of me because I coughed a lot and I smelled like smoke. Now that I'm on my own I get to choose my living conditions, and smoking is not going to be a part of that. I wouldn't want to get into a relationship with someone who has no regard for her own health or mine. It's like they're not even trying.
