Well at least in OKCupid announcing that you have been checking their looks out doesn't seem to work. Can't post the link but the blog post is named Exactly What To Say In A First Message.

Average reply rate to a first message is around 32%

Sexy - 18%
Beautiful - 21%
Hot - 25%
Cutie - 28%

That's pretty interesting-
they do some really cool studies on OKC, using their own data.

I'd prefer to be called "cute", if there HAD to be a reference to looks. :D
Then beautiful- sweet, but cliche.
Sexy- to me, this is saying you're attractive, in this specific way
Hot- makes my skin crawl

I was just struck with the very sharp romance novel/porno dichotomy your vocab had going on there. :D :D

It depends on the girl , some girls love it, some don't.

Once a girl asked me "why you're staring?" , and I said "' 'cause you're pretty?" , she giggled.

It also depends on the guy's who's checking out, if he's an ugly Qasimodo, he's more likely to be accused as a creep, if he's a drop-dead gorgeous then the girls would be more tolerant to his glances/stares.

Seems.... do I check out girls? i look them over a bit, but I don't know whether I check them out. How do I know if I'm checking them out?

the way some women dress, it's obvious they are looking for attention, though.

i don't agree.
sometimes 'attention seeking clothes' are for a girls own confidence, not for a mans attention.

You mean...you decide what to wear every day without the "To Be Ogled! Or Not to be Ogled..." thought process?

:D

I agree, I dont tend to reply to people who write to me saying "your so beautiful" bleh!

however the PUA stuff has been on to that trend for years and Ive heard they reccomend complimenting a woman on being interesting or deep.

well the lesson to learn is that whether a man complements your looks, or your brain he still only wants to get into your pants!

i hope you're joking that men just want to get into your pants.
that's as bad as saying women only want men for money.

I didnt say that.

I said
"whether a man complements your looks, or your brain he still only wants to get into your pants!"

which means beware complimenting men not beware men!! !!

I do not think that all men who make compliments have sinister motives, but it is important point about compliments not always being sinsere and are often a means of manipulation.

and it was meant to be funny!

I've never been propositioned for my pants before.
Maybe a nice pair of slacks will reel 'em in, eh?
